Player Cristian Romero

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

class today. was 10/10 if it wasnt for the first yellow. but thats how he plays he plays on the edge and i wouldnt change that. davies got him sent off with a hospital pass into PEH, romero had to take him down.

He is rightly slated for picking up dumb yellows and being a red card risk, but luckily the red card today wasn’t a bad red card and didn’t result in us dropping points.

Dumb early card, but played very well on the whole. Thankfully the job was nearly done by the time he got the 2nd yellow (which itself was pretty soft).

We won’t know that until after next weekends game.
He’s such a selfish player it’s ridiculous some of the choices he makes.

That he’s our best defender it makes those decisions all the more idiotic. Needs a proper talking too. Fucking idiot.

Has all the qualities of a great defender unfortunately also has tendency to be rash and really stupid. A defender getting a yellow from a challenge in the opposition half when the player is going nowhere? Seriously needs to cut that out before it starts costing himself and us.

I have a feeling it was premeditated and we intended to smash Haaland at some point early in the game. Every time it’s happened to him recently he’s lost interest very quickly in matches. It seemed to happen again today.

Possibly...... May be a psychological thing with him in light of his ankle (?) problems in past seasons.

Big lump like that needs to avoid injuries that weaken him and impede his base athleticism because - unlike Kane - there's not much of a footballer there.

He's made some really questionable challenges in the past, to the point where I really don't know if it was actually premeditated or another one of those.

I'm always a bit surprised by what he gets away with to be honest.

the challenge on haaland for his first yellow is a statement and it worked. strikers dont want it when they have their direct opponent going through them with force it puts a bit of fear in them and makes them play within themselves.

his decision making was good today, he had a shit ball given to him by persic at one point and instead of trying to be clever he just pumped it forward to give a forward something to fight for. other defenders might think thats shameful to do there and look like a donkey but he didnt take the chance of putting himself in trouble as he was being pressed and it was an awkward ball so he played the percentages, this is someone playing above his years.

the reason he got sent off is because one of the weak links (davies) cracked when the going got tough and played a hospital ball into PEH that resulted in grealish going through. romero has had to take one for the team.... this is why they are called "weak links" because they are the ones that cost you when the heat gets turned up.....romero was one of our best 3 players today along with PEH and emerson.
