Player Cristian Romero

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I can't believe I've just spent 5 minutes on Christmas Eve going back chronologically through the posts to understand what Shadydan Shadydan and kingdawson kingdawson are arguing about, and I'm still not even sure I fully understand the point of difference. Is it that KD effectively said we wouldn't look any worse defensively if Romero didn't play, yet in recent games we have, is that the argument? Admittedly my lack of clarity is probably partly due to an excess of Christmas drinks (not out, just on the sofa - fuck you, it's Christmas!) - but nevertheless is there some kind of form I can fill in to get the last 5 minutes of my life back? :/

that's "categorically" stating "we'd be BETTER off defensively" according to you? God you really are thick as pig shit.

In future when you're bored and want to start another cyber argument how about you quote the actualy post you're refering to first to save all the extra unnecessary crap.

Oh this is fun, please tell the whole forum what the difference is and what you actually meant when you said that...

He's a weirdo. If that was meant to be his point why didn't he just quote the post in which I said that then explain it.

Instead he quoted a post where I specifically spoke about the argument ( one that he made himself amongst others) that his "progressive forward passses" were not as vital to the amount of goals we would score as some suggested previously. He specifically quotes that post then states "It will be interesting to see how much this post ages throughout the season". After i repond with another 3 scored he starts talking about how shit we were defensively...ummm that wasn't my point.

The reality is that he quoted the wrong post and probably misread but he can't admit guilt so here we are.

Another Romero myth has been shattered. That he's crucial for our attack. After his numerous fuck ups this and last season, his supporters have moved the goalpost. It's no longer about being defensively good. The entire point with Romero is that we score much more when he's on the team. So, it doesn't matter that he makes mistakes in almost every single game. We outscore his mistakes many times over.

And yet, with Romero missing, we're scoring more than ever before.

I don't think Romero missing is the key. It's more about BJ suddenly being benched and us playing our best attackers. Truth is, Romero has a very limited impact on our attack. His main job is defending and that's the whole point. He can't defend and he's definitely not making up for it in front. Hence, we should have a solid CB in Romero's place and we should continue playing our best attackers and keeping BJ out of the starting 11.

He was being slaughtered by many on here before his injury. Don’t expect most of those people to be that excited he’s now back.
True test of a top player is how they play when their backs are firmly against the wall imo. Gumption, calmness, moments of brilliance, pushing the team on.

He hasn't given a great account of himself this year. Needs to be the senior leader we sorely lack, although I get the impression his inner ego speaks loudest. Cheers Lionel.

He really was getting pelters early on in the season. From what I remember he was guilty of a lot of ball watching and losing his man. Cost us at least a goal a game for a short while from memory. Hopefully a spell out of the team for whatever reason has sharpened his focus and he can do the things needed of him as well as the things he likes/is good at doing.
