Just shows how we do actually need more better defenders. He seems quite injury prone. Maybe he needs to tone it down in training.
I know it's unlikely to happen because of Dier's importance to the central position but I would much rather move Dier to RCB and put Lenglet at CCB than bring Sanchez into the starting eleven.

Don't think there's a necessity for 'elite' but another defender who can compete with both Dier & Romero's spots is really important. Someone like Bremer or even Botman would've been pretty great for that.
We have a genuine issue if Romero is injury prone. I think he's missed about 20 games for us so far and this will add a bunch more. Davies/Dier/Sanchez is a hugely questionable back 3 & not one we should be relying on regularly. Is there any chance we'd throw our hat in the Fofana ring? Probably way outside our price range..
Not this again. Ffs. Being competent defending doesn’t make a player an automatic center back in case of being needed.
We where looking at Bastoni so obviously that money has not been spent. I guess it would depend on whether the club is happy with a 3/4/5 choice signing as an alternative to nobody. Davies, Dier and Sanchez should be ok for Wolves or Forrest but City will be hard without genuine ball playing CB of quality. Hopefully Lenglet steps up.
Gotta be honest, this meme pisses me off for two reasons.
1. It shows the guy is prepared to literally get kicked in the head to make-up for slipping over.
2. He's done fine of late.
He's barely been tested. The games we put him in for at the end of last season were the Woolwich game where he looked shaky in possession and was being targeted before the red card, Burnley at home where I remember him being OK at best but the weakest of our 3, and a Norwich game where they essentially just didn't even turn up.
He has clear, defined weaknesses which will cost us in tight games vs teams who put us under serious pressure.
As good as he is, if he turns out to be someone who's missing half a season every year, that's not good.
I'd legitimately be happy if we paid a Bastoni level fee for Fofana. He's one of the biggest CB talents in his age group I've seen.
But with Chelsea circling probably a no go, and he might be even more expensive.
