People having a go at Ally Gold are missing the point. He's a beat reporter, which means his primary job is to report what the club tell him.
And I'm glad he reported what the club told him, because now we know from Argentine stories that the club's line appears to be wrong. Cucurella injured Romero by stamping on his knee.
So, rather than slagging off Gold, I think there are much more interesting questions.
Why did Spurs brief reporters that Romero had a muscle injury rather than revealing he had a knee injury caused by a violent foul by Cucurella?
Given the ongoing investigation into the touchline theatrics between Conte & Tuchel, and the media & chav moaning about Romero pulling Cucurella's hair, why have we not revealed the true cause of Cuti's injury?
Gold hears stuff secondhand or maybe even third hand, not from the medical team themselves.People having a go at Ally Gold are missing the point. He's a beat reporter, which means his primary job is to report what the club tell him.

Gold gets regular briefings directly from the Spurs comms team, as well as attending press conference.Gold hears stuff secondhand or maybe even third hand, not from the medical team themselves.
Easy for someone that’s not in the medical room to confuse a quad contusion and quad strain. The strain would be a longer injury.
Sanchez didn’t play that well, he made a bunch of mistakes which they opposition, thankfully, didn’t punish us for. Hopefully Romero is back before we play anyone good. Also Sanchez played really well near the end of the season when Romero was injured. Some of you just have your first thoughts to talk shit.
Now we will probably get another CB but it’s not going to be some 80 mil “elite” CB I’m sure you all have swirling around in your head
Our right hand defensive side is about to be pretty weak .. not bringing in a CB alongside Lenglet looks questionable if Romero continues to be an injury prone player.
Is that 3 major injuries since he joined us! Not good at all for a position where consistency is key.
Ali Gold is not the club mouthpiece. The club may tell him some thins but he has his own sources. I sat on the next table to Ali Gold and his wife during the Vittese home game. He was explaining to his wife the going ons at Tottenham what he had heard about Conte signing and how he heard about the deal. He also predicted the headlines of his fellow journalists the next day.Ali Gold has been off recently, especially with the Spence news, but he's still very reliable. He's a club mouthpiece after all.
Yeah he’s been clear in videos that everything is cross referenced with multiple sources.Ali Gold is not the club mouthpiece. The club may tell him some thins but he has his own sources. You mean...3 weeks out means he'll be back for Fulham just before the international break. Certainly back for Man City after the international break, which is great news.
Will miss West Ham away though.
Conte says he has a little problem.
