I don't think he hangs about to play ECL football.
One of the few players in our squad that could probably get more money and sign for a big club quite easily.
This is what has always got my goat over the last few years. These players bemoan a lack of trophies and or playing in top European competition yet consistently fail to show up in the games that secure it.If he's as good as implied then can we get a consistent run of quality performances from him so that the rest of us can get back on the hype train with you..........?
Glad someone has said it - whilst I do think he has the raw attributes to be a very good defender, he has not justified the praise he regularly gets based on his performances this season.Very often vastly overrated by fan boys if only because of being Argentinian and a newish big money signing IMO.
Hmm the same Vertonghen that everyone called overrated during the Sherwood/AVB years, before he got paired with Toby?

Of all the players in the squad to call out, picking on Romero is just bizarre to me. He's the benchmark we should be using at when signing a new defender.
That's right. We could partner him with Juan Foyth...who also won the WC and CA within a year. And the benefit at Spurs is that they'd have Bentancur lynchpinning it all.You partner Vertonghen with the likes of Kaboul, Fazio, Naughton and you have Romero in current form. Partner him with the right players and he'll win a World Cup and a Copa America within a year.
“Pass completion doesn’t mean anything, it could be simple passes to Lloris”Yes, it includes all passes from both players.
Still Dier has the better pass completion, including more through balls.
It just shows, the majority of fans are dragged along by emotions and favoritism over actuuality.Another comparison....the much vilified Hojbjerg.
Played a whopping 24 games out of a possible 26 and averages 6.45. Last season 6.21 so a decent improvement so far and ever present.
