Player Cristian Romero

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I saw him put this team on his back at the end of last season and be the only player on the pitch with the will to win.
The only players to have done that in recent years are Kane and before him Bale.

Romero has the odd good game, followed by average games including the odd major brain fart.

Never has he carried this team on his back! He’d probably be out injured for 18 months if he did! 😂

Romero will be back by 21 March. Argentina have games against Uruguay and Brazil in world cup qualifying.reports that Madrid have targeted Saliba for the summer but Romero will be cheaper .

Starting to wonder if he will go this year. What teams are going to pay £60m+ for a player who misses every other game.

If your Madrid, do you got the above or do you spend an extra 30-40m and go for Saliba who is far younger and much higher upside. Also helped by the fact he speaks French and will be a good fit for the other French guys in Madrid

I expect Romero will be at Spurs until the end of his contract. 1 more season at least very least.

Like most Madrid rumors, I think it was all smoke and no fire. La Marca standard OP is "select player for non-CL winning club who is playing well today -> print Madrid want to buy said player headline".

If he'd carried on playing as well as he started out at Spurs, maybe the smoke would have developed into a fire. But he hasn't been Madrid quality for 18 months, and doubt they have any interest in him.

If we have another great season under a competent coach next year, and he goes and has another good WC in 2026, we'll probably lose him then.

He doesn't have any leverage to get out at this point, though, even if there was interest.

We’ll be lucky to recoup what we spent on him.

No one is paying £60m for Romero IMHO.

He’s fine: certainly not high on the list of issues. Stay / go - we’ve got enough CBs as long as they stay fit. Cuti is a bit of a liability for Ange - probably better to replace with someone a bit more plodder-y to partner captain Van-deVentastic (do you see what I did there!).
