Player Cristian Romero

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Overated? There’s about twenty posters calling him a liability and shit, admittedly quite a few are multis. Funny though then some of the same posters talking up Spence, Richarlison, Danso how they rate players kind of falls apart after that

The consensus of hate for Romero is a recent thing.

A bit like the Levy epiphany.

Up until Christmas at least Romero divided opinion.

His fanbois were a bit like the Ange crowd.

Divisive, selfish, unprofessional player who has led a charmed life at THFC.

His 10 decent games a season have come at a huge cost to the club; in more ways than one.

People are saying a lot of things about his quality as a player which aren't true, but when you accept the captaincy you accept responsibility for the team's results and especially its spirit and attitude in achieving them.

And they have been a shocking, literally world-historical disgrace, so Romero deserves the pelters. The blood is all over his hands.

Just sell this waster.

Unfortunate decisions or not, really bad example to others.

I just hope posters aren't blinded.

Bloke would be considered to be part of the spine of the squad. We have been invertebrates

Bloody awful.

People defending Romero belong in the same place as people defending Frank.

Both of them have responsibility for the situation we find ourselves in.

Fuck em

Edit. This guys ranks higher on that passing league table thing than Romero. One of the top 3 defenders in the league.
(Best passers are midfielders).

Brightons Dutch defender fellow.
2851 minutes played
113 long passes
1799 short passes
8 yellow
0 red.

Romero
1872 minutes played
47 long passes
938 short passes.
9 Yellow
2 Red

Just a better CB to have in your team than “I’m going to take Christmas off again” Romero.
As he actually fucking plays.

He would look better in a De Zerbi team because there is less standing around.
Romero has often been given the job of starting attacks but he is standing with the ball at his feet looking for someone to get open ... which they never did because it was all too static.
He would probably have an easier time finding a forward pass now but it's all academic because he isn't staying to play in the Championship.

Last game where Romero played and we won was on 6th of December 2025.
One before that?
4th of October 2025!!!

After 04.10.2025 we have racked up 5 wins. And out of those 5 wins 4 were the games where our fearless leader, role model and world class CB was missing!

After 04.10.2025:
- games with Romero starting: 1 win, 6 draws, 8 losses. 0,6 ppg.
- games without Romero starting: 4 wins, 2 daws, 7 losses. 1,1 ppg.

Hope that the injury issue is giving him lot of time to have negotiations with potential buyers in the summer.
Hope he never plays for Spurs again.

First priority this summer is to move him on and select a captain who can be relied on. The team is already showing that they don't need him.
I can see why people would want him gone, but I’m not having the last two games as us showing we don’t need him. If that is the case, get rid of Maddison, Kudus and Kulu too. Don’t need them and they can’t be relied upon.

Danso has been better the last two matches, but he’s not the player Romero is.

Our upturn in form has so many elements to it and Romero not playing is way behind the manager getting his ideas across, Gallagher playing well in the correct position, Palhinha being on the pitch, Villa rotating, Wolves being shite, back to back inverted wing backs, a policy of attacking. All come before Romero not playing.
