You can (rightly) blame the board for a hell of a lot of things, but it’s not hard to see that Romero as club fucking captain, should be sticking with the squad for one of the biggest games in our history.
He’s a rat. Blacklist him from ever entering the UK again. Government watchlist for the disloyal turd.
2 things can be true, he's a cunt but the board are spineless and weak, no other club allows their captain to fuck off at a moment like this, the same club who handed him a massive pay rise and a new contract and the fuckng captaincy after publicly criticising the board on social media on many occasions. They've let him get away with so much since he's been at the club...we have absolutely 0 leadership at the top which has manifested this rotten culture.
Agree! Show him the respect he has shown us. Next season if we are struggling to get 60m+ for him, put him training with the youth team and let him ride his contract out in frustration.My only concern there is that by making a big deal out of it, any potential suiters probably see that as 'unrest' and hence an opportunity to get him £10m cheaper than they were prepared to pay yesterday...
I say let's just get the season done with as little further Romero-related drama as possible, then sell him to the highest bidder, and honestly it really would be good riddance. Hopefully Vuscovic comes in and turns out to be an upgrade, win-win!
Of course we can't afford to do this but how pleasing it would be if we could. Having this player around the first team, worse still, on the pitch will only create negativity imo.
