Player Cristian Romero

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

He answered why he was in Argentina. I need to watch it back but the question was never about being there to watch the Everton game
Nah sorry. I'm not having that RDZ would have been vague about something that was kicking off before the biggest match for the club in recent times when all he had to say was he'd be back.

This farce overshadowed the build up this week. If it was the plan for him to be back then they'd have said.

I see that everyone in here has quickly forgotten our last day heroics and returned to their driving passion - arguing about who hates Christian Romero the most :cautious: :roflmao:

Never change TFC :D

Exactly.

If what Romero said was true in the interview, De Zerbi would have said the same pregame and stopped the distraction dead in it's tracks.

He did not.

But because he criticised the ownership once, rightfully, the cult thinks that means he cannot sin himself.

De Zerbi is the polar opposite of vague.

He says it exactly how it is.

Nope.

Got taken in by our manager saying he was in Argentina and asked to be and didn't mention at all he would be returning.

Your gullibility is fascinating.

I'll believe De Zerbi over Romero every day of the week.

He defended him and said the decision was with the medical staff and actually never answered whether or not he’d be there. De Zerbi has pretty much every question translated and regularly just swerves questions he knows are meant to be shit stirrers.

He wasn’t vague at all. He was very clear that it was a decision taken by the medical staff and that he had no problem with Romero. He said he’s not stupid and would never accept a player putting themselves ahead of the club…

It didn’t overshadow shit mate, some people just got taken for a ride by rage bait

I may well be proved wrong in the future but nothing you're saying proves what you want it to.

RDZ said he went. He didn't say he'd be back.

He then went on to praise other 'leaders' who wanted to be around the team.

If RDZ wants a Romero to stay then that's fine by me but, until I see absolute proof otherwise, all signs tell me Romero wasn't going to be there until the shit hit the fan.

Exactly!

If he was going to be there, he would have said so.

Listen to the answer. He just explained why he was in Argentina and said he had no problem with the decision because it was the medical teams decision.
As he knew he wasn't at that point, he chose not to throw him under the bus to cause an even bigger situation of it.
You’ve added that part in your own head.

He even questioned his leadership in comparison to Ben Davies.

I’m switching off this bullshit now.

Whilst I know it's futile and probably just plain dumb to enter into this feeding frenzy can I just say I completely agree with the bit in bold but find it strange that you don't go on to acknowledge that De Zerbi has had nothing but the highest praise for Romero in the way he's conducted himself since de Zerbi came to the club and, in particular, since he was injured.

I suppose this could just be PR for Team morale but... if Romero is off in the summer as seems to be the overwhelming consensus and as he's not available for selection - what possible need is there for De Zerbi to say these things about Romero if they are not true (from RDZ's perspective)?

And if they ARE true.. then what?

I don’t need proof, I’m not making any accusations

He was answering a different question. It wasn’t a shot at Romero unless you wanted it to be.

I’m still expecting Romero to go. He probably should go as well. The way refs treat him here, he’s always going to have to walk an impossible line. This league clearly doesn’t want Romero at Spurs and at times this season he let himself down as well.

If people want to believe Romero chose to travel however many hours to go to Belgrano's training session just to watch them train and then fly all the way back and not watch the game, then people are certifiably insane.

Just think about what that interpretation is.

He went to Argentina to watch a training session.

That's what people want to believe.

Mental.

In fairness RDZ hasn't slagged off one player since he's been here.

Everything has been sweetness and light.
