Lets pretend that we won the Champions League or that those from UEFA who decided to give him the man of the tournament actually watched all games.

Even West Ham won a European trophy and they are now relegated. Villa and Palace also just won. It is easier winning a European trophy than winning a domestic cup.
For who??...Woolwich have just won another league title, yet have won only 1 European trophy in their history....many other examples i could name...
But yeah, you keep using it as a stick to beat Spurs, the team you 'support' 👍

I think two 17 finishes in a row tells a lot about the quality required to win the Europa leaugue. We were lucky to escape relegation, and a very poor side. That we won a second tier trophy just shows that it's easy. I don't think that's a controversial point at all. Just plain facts really, regardless of who you support.

But yea, some people were pretending that we're such a good side. "Champions of Europe". You seem to still believe it.

I think you're a bigger supporter of Ange than of Spurs tbh.

The issue with a team that regularly qualifies for the CL is that there's a very narrow gap to getting into the Europa league that is now closed off.
You have to be good enough to win it, but not good enough to qualify for the CL the season before. Like the best, most capable, 5th-7th placed team in your league that is good enough the following season to have a cup run. Which is arguably aston villa, but before all the european games they were within touching distance of a title challenge so it's not an organic thing to do

There really is no point. You're currently in a "discussion" with someone who has been on this forum for 10 years for only 2000 posts and if you can find more than 10 than aren't about slagging Christian Romero you're doing better with the search function than me. :D

I've never seen an obsession quite like it. Morbidly fascinating but literally no point engaging with it.

I think he will go. He is a player that divides opinion among the fans. I think he's a fantastic player when he's invested in the contest. Hum drum league games against mid to lower tier teams tend to leave him unengaged. Against top teams, and at the business end of cometitions, his qualities as a player and competitor shine.

If De Zerbi is up for the challenge of getting him to focus game in game out, he is worth keeping. If not, we should cash in now.

I'll be sorry to seem him go.

Clickbait? RDZ said in the pre-match press conference that he wouldn’t be at the game and “100% understood” fan anger. Romero was shamed into coming back, that’s a fact.

After the game when RDZ was name checking the important characters in the squad he didn’t even mention Romero. He again mentioned Ben Davies instead of him. Seems quite clear that RDZ is not counting on him anymore.
Agreed. I expect RDZ was absolutely furious with the lopsided-faced cunt. And rightly so.

And if we do take a bath, you won’t complain that we don’t have enough money to sign the players we want?
Depends on how big. We need to get better at getting people in and out the door. If Romero has a £40m release clause - as rumoured - then that is a bath tbh. A quick dip at very least. For a player like him in his prime with a long contract I think that's £10m+ under market value
