Player Damola Ajayi

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Reminiscent of Andros, it should never be underestimated what an injection of youthful vigour and technique can do to a team.

Look at the lift Spence gave the team, supporters.

Hope.

Bit of a shame he didn't come off bench earlier in the season, even against Hoffenheim a week or so ago, both to rest a first team player for 10/20 mins, but to add that vigour to a side who are just knackered,

With the likes of Odobert, Johnson and Werner due back from injury in 10 days or so, it might be difficult to see too many chances of cameos for Ajayi in the coming weeks as Ange may well go for experience rather than a relatively untried Ajayi

Damola came on after 81 mins and scored 3 mins later on 84 mins - has to go down as almost the dream debut, and a lovely goal too. Its a typical Ajayi goal we've seen in Spurs youth lots of times.

Damola helped by the 'give and go' assist from Dane who had come on after 65 mins to score after 70 mins with a bullet header and put us 1-0 up, so Damola's goal put us 2-0 up and made the game safer, sealed of course with Mikey getting a goal in extra time to make it 3-0.

The win meant Spurs avoided the play off to get into knock out stages (which a loss would have put us into) and those extra 2 matches at a time we had our worst injury situation could have meant an exit from EL rather than allowing us to progressing to win EL. So the youngsters combined, unexpectedly, to get a vital result to help us on our way.

Next stage for Damola is probably a season or two of loans. He seems a great lad with a good attitude and desire, as well as good technique, so hope to see him playing in first team again.
