But wasn't the club bigging Dane up more than other academy players? Jose was singling him out, Kane was praising him and also doing plenty of photo appearances with him.

I felt we were being told by the club Dane was going to be a top player. Hey it's OK if he's just another academy player but why did they bloke all that smoke up his arse?

Generally speaking the minute the club puts a player in the first team they get talked about. Reporters ask questions. Anything gets reported.

Maybe agents spread a little bit of clickbait too to push for more money. Publicity never hurts does it.

Should they just say they are ok. Nothing special. Or talk them up?

And at 18 he might be brilliant. Doesn’t mean he 100% becomes a world class footballer.

Natural that he was getting attention, he was scoring for fun in the junior teams and he was first choice for England in every age group. The lad is still only 20.
 
Well taken goal, he’ll be hoping for minutes now as he can’t be loaned again. I wonder what the long term plan is with Dane now.
