BREAKING NEWS

Leading ITK leaks the following:

In light of Daniel Levy leaving Tottenham Hotspur and talk of an imminent takeover, we have received inside information that a consortium are leading the chase in taking over this historic club.

The consortium is led by Spurs fanatic Mark Wahlberg along with other famous A list Spurs fans that include Jude Law, Michael McIntyre and Adele.

We also understand that upon the takeover, they will swiftly move to replace Johan Lange as they feel his data led approach is not proving fruitful.

Our sources say that he will be replaced by Danny Rose as they believe his unique Google approach is unprecedented and believe he would find better players moving forward before other clubs have an opportunity to sniff out these players.

Really glad he's gone. He's been an unnecessary handbrake on the club for way too long. That said, I am old enough to remember Alan Sugar and Irving Scholar, and Levy was a way better Chariman than either of those two! The stadium and the training ground are his legacy, and for that I will be ever grateful.

Lewis' family were unhappy with the club's sporting success
See this is what confuses me a bit, we win our first major Trophy in how many years, and a few months after they remove Levy as they Club hasn't won enough, don't get me wrong i'm not complaining but they didn't have an issue with it for 17 years and just seems like they have seen the club is getting a bit of stick and thrown levy to the Wolves.

2 Sale of a minority stake in Spurs, say 24% by Tottenham creating more shares so £500k - £1m money goes into Spurs.
They can't do this as if they do and Levy some how manages to buy them all them all, with the 30% he already owns he will have a majority stake at the club (Please dont abuse me if I got this wrong and its not how it works , just I've watched the TV series Billions!!!! and thats what they do to take control )

I think the 17th place really was the final straw. All the time we were meandering along in 4th to 7th you could make a case for things being ok. Thats why it was Levy's sweet spot and he seemed to have no real desire to push beyond that. The reputational damage of last season would have forced them to do something, trophy or not. Given that since then Levy, Cullen, Munn Postecoglou, all the coaches (apart from Wells) and the medical team have gone i'd say it was deemed unnaceptable from top to bottom. Good.

But we finished 17th. They likely concluded it was more luck than judgement.

Personally, I wouldn’t read too much into it. This still very much feels like preparation for a sale. But, if not, it was absolutely the right thing to push him out.

Yeah thats a fair point, I do think there is more to it - the stories they are leaking about wanting us to win more just seem like media bullshit, I will be very happy to be proved wrong though but I think this is all leading up to a sale of the club.

Meh, it didn’t give you CL football then and we were in league title conversations. It was universally considered the ugly brother of the CL and nobody wanted to be in it. The ‘you play Thursday night footy’ was roundly considered one of the sickest burns to a rival fan.

Look, I get it .. we won it, and therefore it’s now Huge. But the fans arsed about being in it when we were managed by Poch were a minority. Some were annoyed when we blatantly sacked it off but for the most part it was accepted we were trying to target bigger things.
Haha... reminds me of this ad... seem to recall we got a bit of a slap on the wrist for it after complaints from Woolwich fans.

I've always been on Team Levy.
I remember Alan Sugar well and our slide into mediocrity with no ambition.
To pull us out of that back to where we belong among the big boys of the premier league was no small feat and our status in world football is restored. We haven't been this big since the 80s. And we did it without cheating (unlike man city, chelsea)

It's good that he's leaving with a solid foundation in place. Maybe with the exception of the Academy. That doesn't seem to be working so well.

I do wonder if losing Kane is the moment which decided for Vivienne Lewis that enough is enough. Lost our talisman and greatest ever goal scorer in the modern era because Levy failed to make us an ambitious and competitive team on the pitch.

Kane only left two years ago and these things take time to implement and execute when you are ousting someone like Levy from the club. All the noise about Vivienne and the grumbling about changes and not being happy about Levy started when Kane was leaving. Maybe just a coincidence

I’m assuming she must have had a large input on the hiring of Vinai and potentially Frank too.

The statement last night about Charrington, Vinai and Frank indicates these are all very much Lewis appointees.

As good old Jim from Topspurs said last night, “it’s now the same car with a faster driver” and hopefully we all have reason to be optimistic.

Also I woke up this morning and laid there for a minute before I remembered Levy had gone, and I smiled!

You have no idea as to how it happened as any of us do , Vinai came in with an eye more on PR .

I’d imagine he was more nervous at Charrington coming in . His interviews didn’t show that he wasn’t planning on going anywhere

Terms such as “ with immediate affect “ suggest it was a recent decision

Completely disagree with you. Why would his interview suggest he was leaving? He’d have to keep it confidential. It’s obvious his interview was a parting interview now, he even says “hopefully I’ll be appreciated when I’m gone”. He also clears up some misnomers such as “I never get involved in who to sign player wise”. It’s obvious he was setting the narrative for his legacy. Also the whole tour all around the stadium showing Neville, I mean come on.

Also, the leaving with immediate effect indicates actually nothing about this being a recent decision. He would have been working his notice essentially over the summer confidentially and likely only Vinai, Charrington and the Lewis family we aware what was happening.

It’s crazy you think Vinai was brought in to be CEO for PR. You think the ex Woolwich CEO took the job to be Levy’s minion? He clearly took the job because he knew Levy was off and he’d have complete control

People who generally leave by choice make announcements prior to going

It was released that he’s gone

It was stated why Vini came in , didn’t you read it
