Ex-Spurs Player Danny Rose

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

He also made the mistake of not respecting his club and team mates. Just like Mourinho with his public slagging of players.

We don’t need some guy we signed on the cheap from Leeds complaining that he trains with players “he had to google”. He was a fucking nobody before he played for Tottenham.
He was right... we had a window an actual window when signing quality footballers not N'nobodys turns us in to an actual super club. The dirty miser cheaped out stiffed the bloke who was the one good decision of his entire tenure, and then joins up with the scummyest clubs in world football to screw his way into the elite. Fuck Daniel Levy #Rose was right.

signed in 2007 and played a measly 156 times since with 5 loans, I think its better to draw a line under this player and move on.

Lamela has been injured fuck knows how many times, signed 6 years after and still managed 174 games

I agree that speaking to the sun and washing dirty laundry in public , it is not the done thing . But don't think it warrants the hate he gets he was speaking out against levy and enic not the club . We did pay our players alot less than other clubs at the time and did not seriously try to build a squad that was on the verge of potential greatness. It is understandable why this would be frustrating for an ambitious group of players. Bitiching about it in the dressing room achieves nothing , complaining to levy in his office achieves nothing, what else can you do but go to the press . he didn't say anything Tottenham fans weren't thinking themselves. There may have been an element of bitterness because he did not get a move like walker got when he was in his prime but I genuinely think he wanted the club to succeed and was merely pointing out issues with enic that were holding us back . When he was playing well he was Fantastic him down one side walker down the other totally terrorising defences I personally have great memories of him as a player , that goal against the scum in his debut is alone enough for me to hold him in high regard.
Dunno: if I post on Facebook that I don’t rate my employer and that I don’t think I get paid enough and I don’t think my colleagues are very good? I would expect a meeting the following day.

If I did it again?

Just because he’s a footballer doesn’t mean he doesn’t have to respect the company he works for. The isolation from the coach is because the coach respects the company he works for: he’s following the party line, which Danny wasn’t.

I don't hate him, indifference.

He made a twat of himself on Amazon throwing his toys out the pram but it's forgivable. We are not talking about R Sol
These days I feel sorry for the bloke to be honest.

His career could have been so much more, he’s had a lot of personal tragedies and I’m sure this is not how he wanted things to end.

Yes, he said some stupid things and his game was disappointing at the end but it’s never pleasant to watch someone’s life crumble.

2 years ago he played in the Champions League final and was part of the England World Cup squad.

Danny gave us the best insights into the culture under Poch; when ended with out squads burnout. Rose said that at Tottenham, players were lucky to get even one day a week off under Mauricio Pochettino.

“Even after we beat Ajax in the Champions League semi-final and it was obviously the biggest night of our careers, on the flight home we weren’t allowed a drink.. It was ‘no you are training tomorrow, you are up at 9am’….so it is just one of those things. “I do fully respect what he [Pochettino] has done but at the same time, with that Champions League semi-final we had been together since we were 22 or 23."

After a 'year off', could Danny be motivated again to play out his career at a decent level?

Don't think he will be motivated to work hard now
he could have took a paycut and left us to play football or if Levy had a brain he could have agreed a deal with Rose (saving the club some money)
in the end he's been paid in full to ghost around the training ground what good was that for him or the club ?

He was upset they were not allowed to drink to celebrate a semi final win? In the run-in of a season. I feel sorry for Pochettino and other managers that have to deal with that lack of professionality at that level.

This sums up why Poch and Bielsa will always be nearly men building for the future.
Their philosophy only works with hungry young players willing to do what the coach says.
Within 2 years they look like bonafide stars and start pushing back on the will of the coach. Then the coach has to change or sell.
And fans all hate it when we sell.

Danny wanted to go, Levy demanded £25million for him.

Didn't Levy cancel Rose's transfer to Watford thus pissing Danny off.

I guess for a lot of those players, reaching the final was (and will be) the pinnacle of their career and they wanted to enjoy the moment. It was a 4-5 year journey coming to an end.

The biggest difference for me between the CITY and SPURS documentary was the behaviour in the locker room. City would celebrate wins win dancing, singing, jumping up and down and there was even champagne. Spurs dressing room, even after a big win was like a morgue. 'Well done chaps. Now get an early night, training tomorrow'.

Spurs to sign City's boot man for 30m.......

In hindsight it may have been the pinnacle. But you can not possibly think that they should see it as the pinnacle there and then? When you reach a final you should be focusing on trying to win the final, surely?
