How does me claiming Eriksen plays better with the solid if not spectacular Davies behind him...Then Eriksen scores two goals??? How does that prove I am barking up the wrong tree?
Tottenham are proving my opinion right on the pitch. With Rose, Eriksen was a ghost and our left flank was a shambles and were to blame for causing Jan to come WAAAAY out of position, leaving Toby isolated. During that game I was RIGHT that Rose is an individualist risk taker at the back and is a bad mix for Eriksen. I was also proven right that Rose is great in the tackle, blood and thunder (literally bloody) and is entertaining with no actual benefits going forwards or backwards apart from last ditch sliding tackles. (MOTM in a draw after dropping 2 points...lol)
With Davies behind Eriksen, we were attacked more down the right. Eriksen was given a much better platform and scored two goals as we played as a team and his strengths. Saying that, Lamela did what I claimed he would do before the game. I recently said Saturday that despite his recent good form off the ball in defense, that this is not typical of his game. I said it's risky to play Eriksen and Lamela as a part of the 3 because you run the risk of leaving our right flank wide open despite Lamela being game and willing to get his hands dirty. Walker was getting overun. Speaking of individualist players...Bringing on Townsend made it just as bad. So I felt bad for Walker.
Specific things I said BEFORE the game happened. So stop calling for abusive reinforcements and talk football.
I just hope the damage done by Poch's recent decisions to put out soft wings like Rose and Eriksen in the cups, and Walker and Townsend in the prem are not a long term plan. Like I said, if that is the case, then Jan's face will be thunder again, and Toby will get to know all about the word Spursy.
Luckily I think the penny is dropping with Poch. Hopefully he limits playing Eriksen and Lamela together for home games etc. Keeps playing first choice Davies in the back line, and goes back to putting Mason, Alli or Dembele next to Eriksen.
I can understand Poch putting Lamela next to Eriksen due to the injury's we have had, but that is pushing the boat out a little too much and long term we have more solid options. IMO Eriksen and Lamela should be given free roles behind Kane. And not on the pitch together unless there is a midfielder injury crisis.
Rose would be great at left back if we went full on Gibbsy in the final third. That is what a lot of you don't understand. You don't understand that my opinion is based on OVERLOADING the team with tiny dancers. Too much Townsend, Defoe, Lennon, Naughton, Holtby etc COMPOUND players like Eriksen and Lamela. That's what you don't get.
EG this would work:

I would have zero problems with that because we would need Rose and Walkers pace to overlap.
What you can NOT have is Rose behind non events off the ball. You can NOT have Rose derping around behind Townsend, Eriksen or Lamela. That is ASKING for trouble. Begging to be targeted by managers. If Rose is daydreaming, good luck getting any change from Alli or Bentaleb. They will cover you like bukake.
So you just don't get it. You can't grasp the concept of our issues (soft flanks). I even understand the problem of my style of team. Pace. So you NEED a Danny Rose for my setup. Most of the time on the flanks, but I would play him at left back no problem if the TEAM DYNAMIC needs it.

Why do I want Rose? Because we have cultured players. Sometimes Eriksen, Dolphin, Dembele etc can play "nice". Sometimes you need a blast of energy and aggression if we are playing flat.

When Modric was playign with Bentley, GDS, Lennon and Defoe we were bottom of the league. I complained about that lineup too but idiots don't get the complexity of my opinion. They don't know I want to give the Modric's and Eriksens a platform to perform on. Not throw them under the bus putting out the under 12's Tottenham girls side. Like Rose, I had Modric in all my starting 11's. I just had players around him that could fight his battles for him. In Roses case, people need to fight his mental/positioning battles.
Poch needs to pull his finger out too because coaching wise, Roses crossing and shooting look worse than ever.

So if I get this right and I must admit I fell asleep halfway through your essay. You believe that Eriksen return to form is not the natural rustiness of footballer playing himself back into form after an injury but a result of having Davis and not rose in the side.
But Davies was in the side when his form was shaky and rose was in the side when he was top of his game last season.

We also only have so many players so things can get repetitive.
The argument = Is Rose better than Davies in a back line with our current set up.
So far the answer is Davies is better. I'm proud how well we are doing at the back with Davies as part of the best defense in the prem. If it was not for the own goal...I hope that does not bite us come the end of the season. Rose has been more entertaining, but that comes at a price. I think the age of our team will drop us a few points but that is to be expected. OG from Kane and Bentalebs mistake leading to another OG IMO is the symptom of a young team trying too hard. They will mellow in time with experience. I am hoping Rose mellows too.

What he's trying to do is make people attack Davies against his Rose agenda. Then he'll claim that it's a simple Rose v Davies debate - which it isn't. It's pleasing that everyone has resisted that temptation. Low quality trolling at its best. The only one attacking our players is him - the one who claims to support them.

Rose would give us much needed balance and pace on the left in front of Davies. That would allow Eriksen to be where he needs to be: More central in the final third with less water carrying duties.
Even though Roses crossing and shooting has been terrible, the sheer insanity of his physical gifts will mean we are always on the front foot running them off the pitch.
The Eriksen and Rose show on the left needs to end. It's just like Townsend and Walker. Lennon and Walker. Dolphin and Rose. It will always be too chaotic to work long term.
Just an opinion: And by the way: You can't even claim shit since we have not seen it in ages. So stop fantasizing I am wrong about something that has not happened.

Actually Eriksens form was pretty poor last season. Him mixing with Rose, Soldado and Towsnend had him performing below his abilities for a large part of the season.
That is a backfire. Eriksen was NOT at the top of his form last season. His form was....wait for it.
Chaotic.
Roses form was the best of his career.
