Ex-Spurs Player Davinson Sanchez

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

At 2-1 down we did not need 3 at the back so it's BS to say Sanchez was subbed off because of the fans.
If he is not man enough to deal with boos he is in the wrong profession.
Xhaka got booed by Goon fans.
It was the right thing to sub the sub. What wasn't right was some Spurs fans mocking him. If you saw his face afterwards it was terrible for me. Sometimes football isn't the only thing that matters, unless you are an uncaring bastard (I'm not saying you are).

Secondly, some Spurs fans are quick to boo their own players but never slag off the rotten referees and barely make any noise to support the players. These fans need to step up like everybody else in the club! I would start swearing at the ref very loudly, get some catchy sweary chants together!

SUPPORT YOUR TEAM!

Only time I'm in favor of booing a player is if they are acting like a prick. Sanchez wasn't doing that. He was giving full effort, he's just not good.

It's not his fault the club hasn't moved him. It's not his fault we have not brought in better options. He gives his all, it's not good enough but he's trying.

I want him gone. But I want him to be happy and succeed, just not here. I feel terrible for him, he deserves better from a fan base.

Porro had 3 fucking touches, 3 fucking touches! That's not panicking, thats a player who thinks he can do everything, a bit like Romero.

Watch it back, Sanchex may miscontrol the ball,, but there i no panic. Sanchez then gave Porro a simple pass back, something they all should be good at playing with Plodberg. If Porro was panicking he could have played a simple pass back down the line. He instead put his head down, cut inside and ran up a blind alley.
You seem to want to lay the blame at 1 players door.
The trouble started and ended with Sanchez. It wasn't helped by the others.
I work in insurance claims. If we insure lighting but exclude water damage, I won't be denying a water damage claim because lighting opened the roof and let the water in.
Yes, the water made things wet. But it wouldn't have happened without the lighting.
The proximate cause of that collapse was Sanchez allowing the ball through his legs. Everything that happened subsequently is unlikely to have occurred but for that event.

Why do we boo a player every time they touch the ball? We do it because we hope it will put them off their game. Recently I've seen the tactic work very well on Zouma.

SO WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU BOO ONE OF YOUR OWN TEAM IN THAT WAY?????

Fucking idiots.

This is where you're wrong... It certainly can be abusive.

However; the devil is in the detail (context).

Again.... Devil is in the detail:

2 players playing badly; one black, one white... Only the black player is booed.

Is that racially motivated? Could be.

Absolutely irrelevant.

Chavs cheered Ashley Cole..... Didn't stop them racially abusing other players did it?

Contradcition & hypocrisy go hand in hand with such neanderthal cuntery.

See above.

You're joking? You've been willfully wading about in it for some time already.
Blimey.... That WAS a detailed analysis/dissection of some of my posts...

Points taken, you made some pretty good ones that are hard to argue with!

(I've always thought 'Ginger' is the last of the 'accepted' subconscious bias - especially amongst the English - and I don't know why!

The Ginger-Pele term of endearment was more to do with the 'Pele' but, rather than the Ginger part... cos we all knew Doherty wasn't great, but he was an honest trier! ...that goes a long way with football fans! (Stefan Freund also springs to mind; not a great player, but a likeable, honest worker)

Unfortunately, in todays' game there's no room for 'nice' anymore....
We've got too many 'nice players' ...and the ones with a bit of an edge, like Richi, don't seem to be benefitting us with any positive impact... They just wind up the opposition!

...anyway, I've veered RIGHT off course from this thread, and your original reply!

I just wish Sanchez was better for us. He had so much promise, but a hefty price tag when he joined.... He's never really justified it, or realised that promise. His colour (for me anyway) is totally irrelevant!

There, that was what I meant to say!

I don't even think the booing caused Dav personally to be subbed..... Just that at 2-1 Stellini knew the shit would hit the fan if we lost that game so he threw caution to the wind and took off a CB..... Who just happened to be the guy furthest down the pecking order.

Even if Dav wasn't struggling; I've no doubt that he'd have still been the one to get subbed.
I disagree. The booing after 2-1 was absolutely enormous. Stellini was not making an aggressive play; he was trying to save his player from a really unfortunate situation. Regardless of the score line, he made the right call… no player should have to go through that and stay in the game.

I’d be willing to bet that the majority of the boo boys were bullies in school and are generally lacking in basic empathy.

Davidson works hard every time he plays and more importantly and basically is a person at then end of the day with emotions and by all accounts is a great guy - he will really be hurting after what happened on Saturday. So the boo boys have completely demoralized one of our players and potentially the squad, goal achieved? What goal?

Because we just conceded twice on his side in 20 minutes and he should have been out the door a few years ago. People are sick of watching him. And not just him; this entire club has been a chore for several seasons now. Those boos went to Sanchez but they are really for the entire club as an whole. Oh, and I’m sure many of the partakers were drunk and angry so they aren’t going to think “I wonder if this will make him play better.”

I’m not saying it was right to boo him. But it’s really not that hard to understand why he was booed.

Half the people probably couldn’t think for themself so just followed along.

I do agree that it happening to Sanchez sucks. Even though he hasn’t been good, he’s always been professional, even when he lost his spot. And he was brave enough to go sit on the bench rather than just heading into the locker room. It was tough to watch.

I've said this before...I genuinely HATE watching Eric Dier and Hojbjerg play for us. The way they address the ball there lack of technical adept-ness, there lack of bravery, their performative personality. I long for the day they will be a first team memory. I loath them as soccer players.
That said, I'd never ever boo them during a game we are attempting to win. It's just self harm.

The first was 100% on Porro.

Porro's idiocy for the first was a far more egregious error than Sanchez' characteristic clumsiness for the
Sanchez nutmegged himself, didn't know where the ball, Porro, or the Bournemouth players were, played Porro into trouble, and was then skinned by the Bournemouth player.
1% Porro, who wasn't great, 99% Sanchez
100% correct. The state of him trying to get control of the ball is embarrassing and gives the Bournemouth players that extra second to get to Porro and put him under pressure. Yes Porro plays a part in it but Sanchez is the main fuck up.

Because everyone watching knew we had a 0% chance of winning the game with him on.
The coach clearly didn't see that.
It felt like the fans were fed up with groans and that some kind of action needed to be taken.

It was just people releasing their frustration.
They could have all sat there, bored, disinterested and quiet.
What what would have happened?
We'd probably have left him on and conceded again.

If that was the rationale of those who booed, the 'logic' is just stupid.

Your posts suggest you were one of the booers? Be brave, own up!

No, not booing, but exceedingly irritated by what was clearly obvious.
As soon as Lenglet went down, everyone KNEW it would be a like for like sub but a player out of position. Everyone knew it would be a poor player playing out of position. Everyone knew Bournemouth would see it. Everyone knew the coaching staff wouldn't see it.
3 minutes! It took 3 minutes for all of that to unfold.

We were boring but comfortable. It all went to absolute shit. We all saw it coming.
I feel sorry for Sanchez, he effectively took the brunt of the fans frustrations at the state of what is going on.
Everyone can see what's wrong apart from the people in charge and it's rage inducing .
