It's not even as pessimistic as his tweet makes out....

Ajax have told Sky Sports News that they have informed Tottenham target Davinson Sanchez they do not want to sell him this summer.

Sky Sports News understands Spurs are interested in signing the 21-year-old centre-back but reports that a deal is close to being agreed are premature.

Sanchez was left out of the Dutch side's Eredivisie opener on Saturdaybecause manager Marcel Keizer and sporting director Marc Overmars felt he was not focused enough amid the uncertainty.

Overmars has also confirmed to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf that Ajax have offered him an improved contract after just one successful year at the club.

An Ajax spokesperson told Sky Sports News on Sunday: "Last year Sanchez signed a five-year contract and we don't want to let him go.

"That's what (sporting director) Marc Overmars has told the player and his agents. He is a great player who is very important for us. Next to that, we never comment on rumours regarding transfers."

Spurs have been in the market for a new centre-half and pulled out of negotiations to sign Argentinian Juan Foyth from Estudiantes because Mauricio Pochettino felt they were demanding too much for the youngster.

Pochettino was pleased with is side's performance but said they still need to bring in more players "to refresh and add energy and competition to the squad.

Fuck off Lyall you silly cunt!!!! He literally Poo Poo's every potential Spurs transfer. I'm almost certain he's a gooner on a wind up. Don't listen to this twat. He said Son signing was not as close as reported and 1 day later Son is holding a Spurs shirt. The guy is a prick!!!

Those are the words that are usually uttered when a player is about to be sold.

Yep, indeed. Dutch media claim the opposite of what this guy is stating. Currently Ajax is simply trying to get the most out of this deal. It seems they are looking for a fee around €50-55 million because other clubs are also interested. Mostly Barcelona, Real Madrid and Chelsea are named as other possible destinations.
