Who exactly is going to finish above us?

1. City
2. Chelsea
3. United
4. Woolwich
5. Liverpool
6. Everton
7. Southampton (?)

I just don't see it. We're above Everton, level with Liverpool and only 3 behind Woolwich.

7. Southampton
8. Spurs
9. West Ham

Yes, we're above Everton, but by less than a single win. They can easily pick up those points. Southampton clearly are going to drop points, but I see them finishing solidly in 7th.

We're closer to being in last place than we are to being in first at the moment. I've come to grips with the fact that we're not having nor will we have a stellar season. I'm okay with the fact that we didn't have a good showing today, because I know we will destroy Palace. We're probably not going to lose until after Christmas. After that, we have an extremely difficult month and a half where we play Manchester United, Chelsea, West Brom (who have been playing well enough that they worry me), Woolwich and Liverpool. The only match that I'm pretty sure of during that time period is Crystal Palace.

I'm not having a melt and saying that we're going to be relegated or that we're in complete shambles. I'm just being realistic and saying that we're not going to finish extremely high up on the table. Which isn't a big deal. We're rebuilding. Maybe we can win Europa and sneak into the CL, but if we don't, a year off from Europe might not be such a bad thing.

Fucking hell, and people call me a melt.

Both West Ham and Southampton will drop like crazy. Just a matter of time.
I think that I agree with you.

With Liverpool also coming apart at the seams, I think that it's another worthy reminder that there's always plenty of room near the top of the table. If we start putting together more performances like we did against Everton, we could climb the table in the new year and threaten for a position again.

Makes me laugh, and I was called defeatist.

Southampton are perceived as being this amazing run away train that we'll never catch up to. We're 6 points behind them, 4 points behind West Ham. 6 points can be made up in 4 days in December. We can take Woolwich at our place and United aren't anything to fear anymore.

Our next 4-5 matches will define our entire season. Win them and we're into a semi final, challenging for 4th and top of Europa group; we could become a train of fucking momentum at that point and go on a run, smash United, forget about the inevitable loss to Chelsea and go again. I still hold a shred of hope for 4th and a trophy.

Definitely not a League RB yet, but I guarantee that he wouldn't have pulled that shit that Lennon did yesterday during that Hazard first goal where he literally just watched Hazard right right past him to shoot.

Granted it was only one game, he played pretty well against Hazard in the WC. Hopefully Poch will see Yedlin as a blank canvas and mold him into a great player. He has a great skill set and he's a fantastic athlete.

What's this shit about Southampton, Liverpool, and Everton all finishing higher than us? Saints are about to nosedive, Liverpool is a dumpster fire, and we've just dominated Everton head to head. 8th would be a minor disaster, even with a new gaffer.

8th would hardly be a disaster. It wouldn't be good, but not a disaster. Poch has already proven he's willing to tinker and change things to make it work.. that in itself is a sign that we're far from any kind of crisis (a la AVB boring football game after game). Shit, this season already feels better than last in many ways. Nowhere to go but up from that shit show. I'd gladly take finishing a bit lower if that meant the squad was just a little closer to finding an identity and a backbone.
