Sarr is an average midfielder. I still don’t get the hype with him. If anyone can tell me what he does that’s outstanding then feel free.

He's mobile, tall, good speed and athleticism, and has decent technique, passing, shooting, etc. Has scored some really great strikes that were absolutely not accidental. He's another one that has suffered without good coaching to develop him. Still barely past being a kid as well, he's suffering from a lack of professional coaching and leadership.

It's like he's been told to just go out and run around and see what happens .

I get the impression he doesn't really understand his position .

I can definitely see a footballer there , and a great engine .

Agree completely. Sarr, Kulusevski, Gray, Udogie- all players that are playing like they don't understand their position. And why would they, when we have a coach who doesn't do anything except practice their specific, terrible system?

Geez he can lose a ball easily , always run a few metres too far .

Needs to be a lot more discerning when he has the ball .

Agree- very undisciplined play at times- he looks like he's playing the wing-forward position from CAM- way more taking on his man and running with the ball than is ideal for the position. He needs a real coach who knows what the fuck they're doing. Plenty of talent but need skilled instruction from someone with actual tactical know-how.

It's kind of weird as I watch a show where he was talking about his football and skills and talking to kids and he came across as a very smart guy who knew what was required .

I get a strong feeling that he , along with a couple of others are simply trying too hard , and I can understand that . There is a lot of players either under performing or simply not putting in and others are trying to make up for it .

At any level players always know when others aren't pulling their weight .

My wife at this point would say "yeah but you just opened your trap and yelled at them". True .

I agree players are trying too hard- in fact I think some are trying too hard to make Ange's system work- to the detriment of their and the teams own effectiveness. Part of why it's so stupidly toxic to keep a poor coach on, driving these bad habits into players that might otherwise be developing under proper tutelage.

Don’t understand the position. Are they fucking brain dead?? They should understand the position because they are footballers.
It’s not rocket science. Sarr definitely has attributes but I don’t think he has a big impact in games. His goal against city was a brilliant finish. He’s miles off being a top player.

I understand what you are saying, but feel at least some of them are trying to play this stupid system to their own detriment. Some of the older ones probably are downing tools, silently.

Most of our players are not top players. We should maybe just accept that, and try to support and develop what we do have. I do think that our current pool of talent can be much more than the sum of its parts. We need a real coach to be able to realize that idea, and for a lot of our fan base, seeing is the only way that they'll believe- ie, I don't see that they have much vision of what could be, or much faith that it could be accomplished.

I do agree the system we play makes our players look poorer than they are. We have good players who I think we like flourish in a different system. Our system kills our centre backs. For as much as Cuti has been miles off it he gets hung out to dry the same as Mickey,Danso,Davie’s and Dragusin have been this season. Why the manager would think two full backs inverted at the same time is clever is beyond me. Teams set traps and always have players ready to peel into wide areas vacated by our full backs and counter the fuck out of us every time. Yesterday was embarrassing because it happened time after time after time but for our manager to let this continue for 94 minutes is amateur stuff.

Ange is an amateur. He is like a boxer who has spent years fighting the Chaff at the start to get them used to fighting then skipped the journey men to the world title fights.

Kulu (like many others) has checked out already as far as the PL is concerned, he'll just up his level for the EL...plus that's exactly what the chairman & manager been telling them to do for weeks, cause those two cunts think winning that comp will save them from public lynching.

God knows he's done my head in on many an occasion since joining, but when on song Kulu defo is a good player who can run, pass, keep a hold of the ball, score the odd goal, he also contributes defensively. He's often been our best player. Man is still young enough too, he can still improve his pace, shooting and overall decision-making.

I'm happy to give him another chance under a manager who knows his shit. He's earned it in my books, seen how he used to perform and bar the past few weeks his attitude's always been solid. I think likewise re Porro, Djed, Danso, Sarr, Archie, Berg and a couple others. I'd rather we fucked off Romero, Udogie, Bentancur, Brennan, Richarlison...

But yeah, if we were a serious club (like the 9th richest in the world should be) with genuine ambition to win trophies on the regular, he would be a bench player.

Had nowhere near the mobility to play down the middle , not had he the discipline to work back, which is necessary when playing there. No coincidence we looked open and vulnerable when he came on.

This season is a mirror of last yrs , starts well for 7 to 8 games, then tails off badly, getting slower as the season progresses, great in patches, but equally terrible in other parts of the game. He also gives away a ridiculous amount of fouls and got the feeling he has downed tools on playing for Ange.
