Player Dejan Kulusevski

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Plenty do only follow English footy though.

We're crying out for pace in our team and this guy is the opposite. I'm content with him signing but it's clear for everyone to see we need so much more than this guy and Bentacur.
It's fine if people only follow English footy, but obviously there are many great footballers who do not play in England who would help Spurs enormously. I'd never heard of Sonny, or Eriksen, or Modric, had you?

I don't think pace is the top of the list of qualities our squad needs, nor do I think Kulusevski is some slow clogger. If he replaces Moura that's a net decline in pace, but we're still waiting for Kane to get to wherever he's going either way.

What we're dying for is some creative quality on the ball and an ability to pick a pass, and Kulusevski has that underlying talent level in spades.

It's not Kulusevski's fault our squad has fallen apart and has holes all over the place. More is certainly required. But we'll have one fewer hole if Conte can tap the potential present with him.

Anyone who hasn't heard of this guy basically doesn't follow football outside of England.

It hasn't really come off for him at Juve and I'm skeptical it will here, but this guy was super hyped two years ago.

It's a lot like Lucas Moura in a lot of ways

Context is everything. He is only 21 years old. As a 20 year old, he had 14 goals and assists in 2,738 minutes on a team with Ronaldo, Dybala, and Chiesa, who will clearly dominate goals and assists. Do you think that’s poor?

He wasn't joking....

It's already heading back to turin! Don't panic!!

he’s definitely not slow. He is not electric, but he’s faster than he looks because he’s tall. He probably straight away comes in as our second most dangerous passer next to Harry Kane.
agree that he is not slow. His passing is way better than Kane's. Kulu sees passes and angles Kane would never spot even though Kane is a pretty decent passer too.
Now that we have a passer so superior to Kane, Kane can play more as a typical striker again which should help him finish his drought, I hope.

Also like that he is so young. We need to start looking for the next generation. Need more young player and start offloading dead wood like Kane and some of the other aging / past it players.

Top transfer.

I think he's a bright prospect in need of polish and sharpness to his game, but just to be clear, he never scored 14 goals in a season. He's got 20 in his entire career for club and country.

His passing is better than Kane who we need to move on????

LOL

I understand people get excited for new signings and tend to overrate them but come on.

Technical ability, brains and guile > Pace.

Reg, Son, Lucas.... All our pacey players struggle against parked buses.

Don't see it with him myself. Some people are still banging on about Alli having talent that can be tapped into. I've seen enough of this guy in a Juventus shirt to know he's not someone to get too excited about. That obviously doesn't mean that he can't come here and be a pleasant surprise.

We need pace and creativity in the team and I don't believe these two players will bring much of that. Kulusevski is a ball player but he will get even less time to get his head up in the Premier League. I expect him to be average and will be surprised if he's anything else.

Kane's a brilliant passer, but the thing I was struck by watching Kulu highlights was that he's frequently thinking a step ahead of everyone on the pitch, often including himself.

You can fix that. There's a top creative attacker in here somewhere.
Yes indeed, he seems to have an unusually high football IQ.
Kane is a good passer yes, but his passes are basic. He cuts back a bit and hits a long cross and a deep pass. At those he is the best in the team.
Kulu can find space in the middle of the box filled with players, out of nowhere. It is what we need. With Son this will be deadly.

14 goals and assists across all competitions, nowhere near those numbers in Serie A alone.

But I guess if he can score against farmers in Cups that helps us as well.

My point is that he was very young and playing with superstars that will dominate goals and assists. Anyone expecting a 20 year old playing with Ronaldo, Dybala, and Chiesa to generate 30 goals and assists in all competitions is out of their mind.

He is far too young to be written off.

I don't think anyone expects him to produce 30 goals but that doesn't change that he goals and assists the past 1.5 seasons are far from impressive.

I also don't see people writing him off. Questioning if he is good enough for what we need is nor writing him off.

Where has this view that we need pace come from?

We have a bit of pace in the side. What we’re lacking is someone with technique and creativity. Both new signings address that but particularly Kulusevski. The most important type of pace is quick thinking and the technical ability to then execute.
