Player Dejan Kulusevski

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I think the high price of Dejan is something to do with Bentancur having a sell-on fee with his former club. I imagine they've inflated Dejan to lower Bentancur, which explains why he came so cheap but is the better/more experienced player

I just don’t see him being a player to really push us on, it’s early days still but he’s exactly as I expected so far. Decent squad player because he improves the low level of intelligence we normally have on the pitch, but a 40 million player he is not.
Agree though he is only 21 so could yet become a 40m player (that's not a lot these days).

I've seen enough of his technique and intelligence to suggest he'll do well. Playing more centrally like yesterday makes sense.

He's good at receiving the ball on the turn and playing forward quickly. Unlucky with his strike too.

What I like is that he and Bentacur are both comfortable on the ball. We need more technicians in to outweigh the bumblers we regularly roll out.

Getting there slowly. A few more in the summer and we might be able to keep some measured possession once in a while.

Refresh me guys are really committed to this signing as in can not choose not to buy?
If I read it right from a newspaper, theres an 8 million loan fee. If we play him enough (i think thats what it means by 'meeting targets'), then we are obligated to buy him for a remaining 29 million on top of the 8 million loan fee. If he doesnt meet targets, then we have the option to not buy but the 8 million loan fee stands.

Obligation is dependent on BOTH of the following:

1. We get CL
2. We play him 15 times

Otherwise we reserve the right to bin him.

Think he’ll be more an Eriksen type than an out and out winger. IMO that was a need anyway. Just think that means a 3-5-2 or 4-2-3-1. He’s not going to cut it as a RW, and certainly not with the current RWB options.

Without comparing Kulusevski to, say, Henry, Salah and de Bruyne...but all those 3 had really bad beginnings in the EPL - and, none would have made it further than being "average" if one should go by their start-up in the EPL.
Again, I am not saying Kulusevski will ever become as good as those players being mentioned but one can't judge a player after just 2 games.

But you can say that he's bloody slow. Makes Kane look like Dan James.

Players don't have to be fast, in fact some of the greats have lacked any particular speed (Pirlo) . But a winger? He better be the most skilled player on earth if he's got zero speed and is playing on the wing in the PL.... Jury is out but hoping this is not another Ndombele or Glc.
