I like dribblers like St Maximin, Salah etc. but I LOVE dribblers like Kulu. The former are not really creative, they just have really quick feet and crazy agility. Kulu dribbles creatively, it's very improvisational.

He's usually unspectacular, but if the situation calls for it he can do a few flicks and trick, a lot like Dele.

yea he does things off the cuff but also with what hes going to do next in mind, that bit at 56 seconds, ridiculous off the cuff skill.

Oh yeah that foul throw cost us the season!

It’s ridiculous how people would get worked up about a foul throw. Yes, it’s baffling and shouldn’t happen at this level but it’s not a mistake that has consequences. The consequence is giving away possession once in an area that isn’t dangerous as it’s a dead ball.

People really seem to have forgotten it was 3 foul throws, not 1. 3 foul throws in 1 game.
And I can still think of an endless list of players worse than him.
You know why? It's unusual for refs to pick players up on foul throws, so it happens a lot more often than that game implies.

My point being the foul throw outrage was mainly because having 3 in a game is very uncommon. It’s not like it lost us the game. Diers assist to Salah was the equivalent of 20 foul throws.

The Aurier hate is just bad memories and people are confusing his rare bonehead mistakes with his regular play. He was on a similar level to lamela (realistically he was better but had a shorter spurs career) and yet people call Lamela a club legend (I get it, his shithousing was legendary).

But I just read a post yesterday about how lamela was class and his problem was he was never fit…. The guy scored 17 PL goals in 168 games…

It’s revisionist history that people are creating and not reality.

The OTT hate for Aurrier just shows how limited some fans are.
I'd take his fuck ups every now and then in exchange for Royal, who has absolutely no influence on games whatsoever,
Fuck it, I'd have 2 Aurrier's, one on each side if Sessegnon continues to not progress.

I don't want to hijack the thread but there is nothing revisionist about my opinion about Aurier.
The WHU games where he got sent off was just the start of a colossal list of cock ups that literally cost us trophies.
The Euro game defies credence.
My final words on him in the Kulu thread.

I think maybe as he gets older he might move centrally like De Bruyne. He is so similar in many ways to De Bruyne, even in his awkward running style.

Depends who you ask.

The UEFA coefficient rankings which have the PL at #1 at Serie A at #4 with a pretty colossal points gap between them is pretty telling.

Serie A is a great league - really entertaining these days & competitive. But on a quality level it's a step down from the Premier League, purely because of the financial aspect.

Club Elo is another one that shows all the teams instead of just the ones in europe. Although it is an Elo rating, meaning recent results are likely not weighted as much as they should be.

Once again, England far far ahead of Italy, who is barely ahead of France.

Tired of having to explain what should be common knowledge that England is well above the other leagues as a whole in recent years.

It used to be a myth. Our results in Europe for years were crap so pundits were forced to resort to 'oh its the most entertaining/competitive/fast paced' etc. Then around the time Fergie left the Prem wised up a bit & now most of the top managers are assembled here so loads of wealth is married to tactical knowhow.

Obviously Madrid, Bayern etc still hoover up their fair share but the Prem sides tend to do better on the whole.
