There's no patterns of forward play, no attacking coaching. The team has been handled horribly this season

There's no way richarlison, son, and kulu could all turn absolutely shit and incompetent in less than a year .

But I understand it's a case of having to pay out alot of money in the summer, but I think he's showed some raw talent to have some money in the bank

Was joking about Kulu. Everytime I say he's shit folks come round and take personal shots at me and tell me how good he is. If you can't beat 'em... Weird that I don't see many of them around ATM.
Thing is, and this applies to more than just Kulu, you look at Newcastle, and Woolwich to a degree, and it's remarkable how much improvement a player can have, and how different they can look, when they're being well-managed and are in a team that has a collective competitiveness about it.

Kulu, Richarlison, Porro, Romero, Sonny, these guys look terrible, but they don't look as terrible as Joelinton and Almiron did in a circling-the-drain Newcastle team. They aren't as much of a disgrace to the shirt as Granit Xhaka often was.

The squad needs improvement for sure, but the club needs a raison d'etre above all.

This is apology...but by the very nature of your argument you are stating that this player is a system player...not a player that can truly effect a game but a player that is reliant on the porridge being just right...a goldilocks player.

Most people on this forum do not know how to evaluate a player's actual ability. I am not looking at system, formations, tactics, etc etc. This player has no intrinsic threat to his game. There is nothing that he can do that cannot be stopped, easily, by any PL defender...were this the NBA it would be said about him that he cannot create his own shot. And you know that means that at best he's a bench player...more likely he's not for the league.

He's got nothing IMO and you agree according to you tacit admission in your post. And thus everything folks are crediting him with from last season would have to be accepted as being a result of external factors from which he benefited.

And as for Joelinton, I'm glad you brought him up. I ALWAYS backed Joelinton (was even ridiculed on this forum for it) because I knew his quality from Hoffenheim...there was underlying quality that is absent in Kulu. Whatever you think Kulu has he cannot utilize it because he cannot make his own time or space due to a lack of athleticism. He is not up to the task of this league...Joelinton is (just don't ask him to score lest he wet himself).

How many more times are you going to have to see it? That's a serious question. What would prove it to you? At some point it becomes intransigence.

wasn't a yes or no question... And that said, you left out a lot in your response...mostly the really inconvenient parts. But those parts are important as well.

All players are affected by their context,
Sure, but good players with intrinsic threat influence that context instead of just existing within it. And the best players effect positive outcomes. And on the wing is the most 1v1ish part of the whole game so this point is hollow in regards to Kulu...

it is ridiculous to suggest otherwise.
Good thing I didn't...there is a difference between being able to influence context versus being wholly reliant on that context. It's the difference between a top player and a system/role player. But you know this.

Callum Wilson, Almiron, Isak..these are some players who are definitely better options than the Snigeln.
There has to be better options than a player that is too slow for the league. Doesn't help that HK is also slow and Sonny is getting older.

Still think we are going to sign him as it won't be for 31 Or 37 million as we aren't getting CL. So DL will see it as a steal to get him for 25M...even though he will still be stymied everytime he plays because that saved 6 or 12M will not make him faster or more agile.

I was shocked by how many times he turned the ball back today. Just no confidence to run at anyone.

really not sure we should buy him (unless its very cheap)
yes he played well end of last season, but this year he had been poor
is that down to manager or player trying to impress last season, there must be a reason we got him on loan ?
