He’s was very good today, but incredible would be if he could make that his baseline, rather than the meh we’ve seen for the last couple of years including most of the games this season.

You're right about hyperbole in admiration but the opposite is also true - he's been very good all year not "meh" at all.

What is "incredible" about Kulu is his engine. He runs as hard at 89 minutes as he does at 3 minutes. The last 10 days have shown how invaluable this athletic prowess is to us.

He's also still very young and growing into the role. Very promising signs
 
hes holding himself in duals and in contact a lot better this year, before hed have a go but hes either be positioned wrong or something and lose the ball, now hes riding challenges and keeping the ball a lot better. some of his first touches today when the ball was fizzed into him and he didnt have a lot of space was class. the bit for werner was elite playmaker stuff.

For me, he's wherever we need him.

There was a point today in the 2nd half when United had the wind in their sails; we needed more defending ability in midfield, and more ball retention up top. So Ange brought on Sarr for BJ and moved Kulu over to the right wing. Killed the game instantly.

Kulu's ability to be the outball on the right flank and take the sting out of the game when it has become too transitional is priceless.
