Player Dejan Kulusevski

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

To be fair kulusevski has been injured roughly 250 days now .
He's got a long way to go still to beat lamela's 400!
And Erik came back and played on for another 7 years
If Dejan plays for us again, he'll be lucky to last 7 games!!!

However if he moves (like Lamela) then the sky's the limit... he'll probably still be playing well into his 40's like James Milner!

Said it before, his injury is not common in football, there isn't a lot of evidence to go on regarding recovery.

I will be shocked if he played this season

had a layman’s read on patella breaks. So the recovery itself is probably already done but the main problem with this injury is the inflammation even after the bone has fixed and it can vary from 1-9 months but normally around 3-6 months and it is very hard to tell how long it will be. Therefore he could be back next month or next season. This is why he got the anti-inflammatory injection.

I genuinely hope he takes as long as he might need to heal properly. I don't care if he's out til next winter break as long as he comes out as well recovered as possible. The way the squad sits right now we really only need one of him and Maddison to return to give us a decent compliment of attackers for next season. More important to take the time to heal this properly than jeopardize his career.

Expanding the European comps is merely the straw that broke the camels back......

Covid condensing 2 seasons + winter world cup meant no proper season/break cycle for 3 years.
Then add the advent of the Nations League (more international games)
Then expand the CL/EL
Add the EconfLg
Then add club world cup.

More interruptions.
More travel.
Ever increasing athletic intensity.
More players playing through 'twinges' in lieu of other missing players.
Less holes being plugged by kids as the stakes are too high.

It's no wonder players are breaking down with increasing frequency. Even if we're not solely talking muscle/tendon injuries; you're just increasing the likelyhood of in-game incidents (impact injuries, twists and bad falls).

I said this 2/3 years ago.

Is it any wonder the football sucks these days.

Too much international football. All the politicians read that shit book some years back claiming that football helped solve regional politics and world peace, and football was quickly expanded into a never-ending political wankfest.

I love the game of football, but it's absolutely used a bread and circuses type ploy to help distract and soothe/quell local populations.

Anyways players these days cannot handle so many games. Squads need to be expanded, and rotation used more heavily. Old-school managers that don't believe in aggressive rotation as now failing as they don't have enough healthy players to last these longer campaigns. At least the Prem expanded the number of subs that can be used, and you could see, most progressive managers make use of all of them EVERY game.

Like me, you're intitled to an opinion. Lesser injuries have done for players but if he doesn't play this year, you're talking near on 18 months before he plays a meaningful match (can't see him playing for Sweden between now and the start of next season). Would not be surprised if there are a few more setbacks and then the inevitable hanging up of boots. Hope not. Hope he comes back and plays to a high standard again. But longer this goes on the worse it looks.

They'll give him until at least the end of next season. At that point he'll have a year left on his contract and they can figure out what is next. Kulu has good leadership qualities and is very smart, I could see him being a good candidate for management, especially back in Sweden or the Balkans, his homelands...

If he’s out that long then his top flight career is over

Sadly I agree with michale

Let's be honest, he's not great anyway. Better than a lot of what we have but that really isn't saying much.
He's not elite but he was easily our best player in the first half of last season, putting up some of the best attacking stats in the whole league.

I feel like Kulu gets a bit of a rough ride from fans cos there's such a vast difference between his best and worst performances. When he's off form, not sharp or overplayed, he looks like a lumbering oaf. But when he's on it he's a really good player and can be vital to the team.

I think cos he was shit before his injury, people are remembering him at his worst. But there's a really decent player in there. He's one of my favourites when he's on it and he always gives 100% every game. We just need to make sure he's rotated rather than running him into the ground.

For a guy that's all about hustle and energy, I have a bad feeling this injury might be it for him at the top level sadly. Such a shame as he's probably got the best mentality in the entire squad.

Agreed, but I think also it has to do with how high lines have taken over. If you're Man City you can play that way because you have the depth to rotate, but most teams don't.

Need to blood young uns, even if they are only getting 10 or 15 mins it reduces the load of others an they bring energy
