We do have some agency in all these decisions. We're not selling everyone and priority will probably be given to high fee, high wage players. Might be different if we think he's done and wont be the same player.

Yep I agree, didn't say we would sell everyone.I don't subscribe to the idea that we'll be playing the likes of Donnelly and Dane scarlet in the championship.

Think alot of these cunts will be playing championship footy next season

Think around 7 or 8 of the current 22 will be gone

I'd go for about 10 given Bissouma, Kolo Muani and Paulinha wont stay. Then you have the obvious that probably would have gone anyway Vicario, Romero, Dragusin. VDV wont hang around, probably Porro, at least 1 of Bentancur, Sarr and Gallagher need to go to balance the squad better. Reckon that will be about it.

Could see Donley being in the squad, not a starter and reckon Scatlett will leave as we have Lankshear. Never seen anything in Scarlett and he's never really done anything on loan at any level.

Well I’d fucking hope so.

It’s not his fault but he’s been forever injured now and the clubs picked up that bill. It’s unknown whether he will ever truly recover and he has a long way to go to get back consistently on a pitch.

The idea that if we go down he should be just walking his way back to a better side is laughable. Guy hasn’t kicked a ball in what feels like forever.

He'll stay for the same reason that Maddison will.

A combination of A) failing to attracting the offers that a club like ours will accept due to them not playing for a year and more importantly B) we've paid them for a year and supported them through injury and all the extra shit that comes with that. They will 100% feel like they owe the club/fans unless they're unhinged sociopaths.

I think A) rather than B). Injuries happen in football, it's the risk you take when you buy players. They don't owe the club anything. Had they got injured while not playing for the club, I could buy that, but getting injured, while playing for us, which has hurt their careers, isn't on them.

I do think both will stay because Maddison is already a complete crock and coming off this injury doesn't make that any better. He relies on those quick turns, and if that's hindered, he's a very different prospect.
Deki, it's just such an unknown, that even if he's fit, it could take him a year to get back to where he was before, or, he could be done.

Both players are too much of a liability to warrant signing by another club and for Deki especially, it could be better for him to rehab at a level below because he'll get more minutes and patience.

They all need lots of game time, and Scarlett needs to be somewhere he is first choice. That's just not going to be with us.

Lankshear needs to be a first-choice somewhere too, and sadly, I doubt we can reasonably find a way for him to be that with us right now.

The non-rotation policies of Ange and Frank these past three years have been utterly disastrous for us- both from a injury AND a player-development perspective. It was almost all handled as poorly as could have been imagined.

Club would be best not to count on Deki for anything next season. We should consider ourselves lucky if he is simply able to make a recovery that gets him back to similar athleticism he had before the injury. He can slot in as 3rd CAM/RW in the squad planning- and even still the club ought to have somebody else capable of filling that role for those positions in case he is not able to make a sufficient recovery.

If he's fit in the summer, he'll play for Sweden so Spurs will be able to see how he plays after he recovers from injury.

Of course its unlikely he'll immediately play for Sweden at the level he was playing for Spurs a year ago, but it should be enough to allow us to know if he's permacrocked or can play a part for us next season.

To be fair, that list is pretty much who we'd want gone regardless of survival or relegation.

If those are the only outgoings, and we manage to get a few in that RDZ likes, should be a joyous season to look forward too!

That's not true really at this age, what he needs is to be getting meaningful minutes though. He could quite feasibly get those here as backup to a clear first choice.

Our current situation of having a bunch of middling strikers is the worst of all worlds though, as they're all clearly going to be picked ahead of the youth, yet none of them are good enough to make a case for being clear first choice.

It's good that RKM is only a loan and so will be removed from the squad for next season with no messing about, leaving us with a decision to make over Richi/Solanke. Franky I wouldn't be against selling both, bringing in the best striker we can attract, and then having Lankshear as the understudy, might as well keep Dane around to cover injury too.

Totally agree on the non-rotation of recent years. Even Spence only got his chance when there was no other option and the injuries had already struck.

Yeah I think Lankshear would develop fine as our backup striker in the Champ - that likely means minutes off the bench in every game and no doubt a fair few starts, plus cup appearances.

It already seems like RDZ prefers Solanke to RIch and the latter only has a year left on his deal so will almost certainly be off in my opinion. Maybe we sell Solanke too if we get a big offer, but I think we'd need at least one proven striker in the the Champ and I highly doubt we'd attract anyone better than Solanke so better to make him stay.

I think if we go down we're unlikely to be able to sign a striker that's a clear upgrade on Solanke tbf, so would probably keep him, especially when you factor in his value probably being artificially low due to the season he's had.

Solanke, Lankshear and Dane/Melia/that Scottish kid as the third man could be alright if the youth do actually have anything about them.

Of course though, if Solanke ends up being crocked again for a lengthy spell then we could be up shit creek, so we really need to get some wide players that contribute goals too to mitigate that possibility.

Awww that's sweet thinking footballers give a fuck about anyone but themselves.

Anyway, hasn't this guy hoored himself for selection for Sweden, yet no mention of us?

Seriously, I love the kid, but if he ain't gonna be 100% fit for next season (PL or not), we gotta terminate his contract.

It's a joke now.

The OG Ronaldo had one of the worst patella injuries ever, was out for 17 months, then returned and was top scorer in a World Cup (although never the same player) so it shows players can recover from these types of freak knee injuries. Maybe Kulu can also make a full recovery and have a decent career?

Worry is he was pretty slow to begin with and never struck me as a natural athlete - take away the little explosivity he had and you have to wonder if he'll ever make it at the very top level again?

Might be good enough for the Championship though :vinai:
