Ex-Spurs Player Dele

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Dele was good. Very good at times. But I don’t get this sentimentalist bullshit from some of the Spurs fans. He’s not a club legend like Kane, possibly neither a club icon, you could say he was the poster boy of our best team in the last few decades. Guy’s a millionaire and living his life, on the back of a few top years in football, what more would you want? Some people don’t have the motivation to stay at the top of their game.

It's not sentimentalist bullshit.

He was LOVED here and people have very fond memories of him..... It sucks the way things turned out.

Have you ever been to either WHL’s, or Wembley? If you have seen him play you would understand.

I think the number of Spurs fans who would want him back or feel sorry for him now is exceptionally small. However he was an idol to the fans and that’s easy to hold dear even after his fall from his huge peak.

Dele, on his day , was magical and a joy to watch!

I wish him nothing but the best in life!

Us football fans are a sentimental bunch though aren’t we? The players who have been lucky enough to pull on a shirt for us (& by extension every player of every club who have supporters) are part of a continuous dialogue or continuum (I know - it’s becoming a bit too philosophical).

In his pomp he threatened to become a Peters, a Gilzean or dare I say it a John White - all players from before my time but players I’ve taken on board as part of the fabric of the club. A player with a unique gift of losing markers, ghosting into space and creating the unforeseen or unpredictable.

He played a key role in a side that should’ve gained a league winners medal or an FA Cup, or even a CL.

The way his career has unfolded is a real shame. All of his millions (if he does have any left) can’t buy what he was on the cusp of. I loved him at Spurs and thought of him as uniquely Spurs in yes, a sentimental way

Hope things turnaround for him

I will ALWAYS have a soft spot for the bloke. If you were there when he was good and killing teams for Spurs and you are Spurs you feel it. I'm utterly amazed this needs explaining to anyone who claims to support Spurs. I love Archibald, Crooks Falco and Galvin Roberts and Miller I love David bloody Howells I love Erik Edman and Stefan Iverson I love Jermain Defoe and yes, I love Dele Alli. I hope he finds peace and security away from football.

It wasnt long ago that he was the next best thing in PL football. And say what you want he scored a lot of goals for spurs. Ill never quite understand why we got rid of him when there are so many more players i wud have unloaded, many of them still here or out on loan.

David Howells used to have his critics too

He was a bit limited but always put a shift in and never hid!

Same goes for Terry Fenwick

still has another year to go on his contract with Everton with the same massive weekly wage we were giving him.
I dont think he cares at all.
I assume theyll just cancel his contract in the summer and pay him off, Dyche wont stand for it
I wonder if they can cancel the contract as there are clauses with Tottenham. Imagine he was good they could cancel the contract and resign him rather than pay any clauses.

Same difference pay him and have him sit at home
