Apparently currently rehabbing from injury / training using Everton's facilities. However he's not on contract / being paid.
Has an agreement in principle to re-sign for them as and when he gets himself match fit. Suggestions are that Dyche thinks he should have something to add to the squad if he can get back playing.
I've always been of the opinion that Dele's fall started the day he moved up the field and started playing as a second striker. He had more glory, glory moments after that, but I feel you could see the atrophy of his skill and talent in almost real-time. His game steadily devolved into eventually just timing his runs into the box and striking at loose balls.
His rise was so sudden and meteoric that you have to assume that he started taking his skill and talent for granted.

Not sure I can think of a player that had such a sudden and severe decline. It’s very sad.
Given what we now know about his struggles behind the scenes it's a lot more complicated than that.
He should play for a club like Celtic. They'd take him under their collective wing and he'd probably enjoy football again
He needs a Lampard role where he has free reign. And an attitude transplant.

This is sad to hear.....
He needs to salvage a little something from the remainder of his career before age retires him for good. Taking whatever demons he still faces into retirement would not be good at all.
Sad if true. I hope he gets good support from his current club because as has been said above you really don't want these issues going with you into retirement.

Yeah.. under Muriel.. when we were short of strikers he played as a striker IE a no 9 ... He was ok.. tbh Att thought he took one for the team andalso didn't think he was 100% match fit. But he seemed continually picked up niggly injuries , his confidence seemed to be effected..
Just a side note I found it quite interesting that poch started to get the ,'best 'out of Palmer for the chavs i couldn't but help thinking it looked v like how poch got the best out of Ali...
