Yeah, he's had that tired look for a few years now. The one where you're not getting a lot of sleep or doing too much drugs, eating badly etc.
It's possible to get like that just from video game addiction, believe me.
It breaks my heart. He is a young lad who came from a pretty crappy start. Got a massive father figure flourished and when that ends...he was pretty much done.
Unbelievable that his career is on the down at only 26. Should be enjoying his prime and for another few years.
I think this is why I have had more time for him than others. The odds to come from his early childhood problems to become a top level footballer like he did must have been huge. To have all that mental fortitude to do that was amazing. Maybe he just got tired of it and is drained mentally. Players don’t retire and come back to the game but maybe he should? Maybe he should go do something else for a couple of years and then try and come back. He is young enough. A football career break, now there’s a new one!
Trouble is while he is getting paid £100k a week why would he chose a break?
The thing is, you may not enjoy the career anymore. But surely the majority of that is the training, and fitness grind. You'd think come matchday that bit would still be fun and you wouldn't just be shit.
I hope one day we find out what went wrong with him, I hope its just he got bored of training and playing but realised he would get paid regardless so just kicked back, would hate to think he had some personal issues that caused this decline!
I think it was few things. Dele stopped running for Poch but Poch kept picking him. He was also given a huge contract, along with Son and Kane while some of his other high level contribution teammates were not remunerated to the same level. Toby, Jan, Eriksen and Rose must have resented what happened regarding the disproportionate rewards given to certain players. The morale definitely began to sag. Toby and Eriksen running their contracts down also suggests they were not impressed.
Dele was also attacked, robbed and humiliated, in his own home, along with his partner at the time. That relationship ended after this I believe. This was during the Jose phase and 'Dele's brother' observations.
I think the cumulative effect of all these events, and maybe some we are not aware of, drained all the confidence he built up in his first three seasons at Spurs.
Or maybe it was just that Dele found playing at the old WHL easier, because it was so much smaller than Wembley and the new ground, as he didn't have to run as much as he was expected to when he got pampered and lazy.
When he was young, hungry, modestly paid and fresh from MK Dons he was one of the best young players I have ever seen at Spurs.
Who knows?

He always stuck it to Chelsea and the N5 deadbeats.

He hasn't been himself since at some point in the 2018 season. He was complete shite in Poch's last season and a half.

Should go take a chunk of that money and build something for kids/youth etc.

Always looked like he lacked real purpose.
If he used his image/brand/money and dedicated himself to helping people, I suspect he'd be a lot happier/more fulfilled.
That would fill the hole imvho.

When you look at Kane and Dele, who both got their main chance once Poch arrived, It is the character of both men which seems to have set the course both players are on.
Kane doesn't need a haircut, sleeve tattoos, fancy pants boots or to be seen on social media and in night clubs.
He lets his football do the talking, walks his dogs and spends time with his family.
If only Dele had done the same thing.
Kane is a man.

Wealthy footballers can also be very insecure and prone to depression just like the rest of us.
He’s a young man who gave me a lot of pleasure. I find what’s happened to him very sad. I bear him no ill feeling. I hope he sorts things out.

Besiktas manager Senol Gunes has admitted Dele Alli has performed below expectations since his season-long loan switch from Everton in the summer. Gunes' recent comments will act as the latest reality check for Alli, who is fighting to reignite his career in Turkey.
The 26-year-old's Tottenham Hotspur career came to an end in January, joining Everton in a deal potentially worth up to £40million. But he failed to impress Toffees boss Frank Lampard at the back end of last season, prompting him to be offloaded to Besiktas in the summer.
Alli has largely uninspired in the Super Lig so far, though, scoring one goal and providing no assists in seven starts. And his manager has now publicly come out to claim the former England international has been below par since becoming a part of his squad.
Ahead of Besiktas' mammoth clash at Galatasaray this weekend, Gunes said: "I couldn't affect the players [yet], now I can easily touch them, but we haven't touched Dele Alli yet. Let's not discuss Dele Alli as a player, but he is below expectations in terms of efficiency."
