Ex-Spurs Player Dele

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Insane talent, just can't fathom his fall

He got injuries and he lost his edge.

I still believe that if Dele hadn’t got those hamstring injuries he would have remained a regular player for us. But they severely hampered him physically and exposed the technical deficiencies in his game. He tried to bulk up to compensate and it just made things even worse.

Prime Dele was lean and full of energy. He was fucking annoying to play against. Whether you get tight or back off, he could hurt you. Once he lost a step there wasn’t much left. He lost all the power in both his stride and his strike. The lad who leapt up to score those 2 headers against Chelsea or who could score regularly from 25 yards, he doesn’t exist anymore.

If he’d knuckled down maybe he could have adapted his game and overcome it. But he kept on training lazily as if he was still a wonder kid and now he is where he is.

I genuinely think he’s had something like depression or a mental health issue. Maybe after the armed robbery?

Certainly something that’s completely drained bus motivation.

Just me speculating obviously but it wouldn’t surprise me in the least.

Whatever, it’s all very sad

He looks so different physically too. The lad is 26 but his face looks many years older. My guess is mental health issues. Confidence is completely shattered.

Kinda worry about him in the coming years tbh...... Don't wanna temp fate, but if he can't salvage some semblance of his playing career; regret may eat away at him very hard in retirement.

Besiktas coach Senol Gunes has claimed Dele Alli 'doesn't deserve to play' at the moment after he was an unused substitute in the Turkish side's defeat to Ankaragucu on Wednesday.
Alli, 26, joined Besiktas on loan from Everton last summer in a bid to spark some life into his fledgling career after a number of difficult years.
However, it has been a miserable spell for the former Tottenham star in Turkey with Alli struggling to make an impact and making just 10 appearances for the club, despite the fanfare that greeted his arrival.

One of my favs. Loved that 4-1.
A sumptuous move that.

He just doesn't strike me as someone that loves football. He was really good, he's minted now and enjoys his hobbies and nailing his girlfriend. Seems he had motivation when he had something to prove/earn, and now he's content that he proved it.

Lots of people in lots of walks of life who are the exact same way. Could always be as you say, but I just think football is a means to an end for him and he'll be happier when he just fucks off.
