Also must be remembered he was initially bought by Paratici as a prospect LWB for Conte’s system, a role totally different to the one he has had to adapt to over the last season and a bit.
He shouldn’t be the only realistic option we have in the squad for LB.
I'm telling you he's Kyle Walker before the actual coaching....so can Ange and Men at Work do what Pochettino and his coaches did? I'm not trying to be smart because I suggested this was an issue before I worry about the player development of Udogie and Mikey VDV in the chaos ball of Ange. They don't seem to be learning some fundamentals.
Wish we would play 3 at the back and wingbacks as we now have the squad from a defensive and central midfield perspective to excel with this approach. Whereas the reality is that we’ve 2 wingbacks in Porro and Udogie who are been shoehorned into full back roles and we’re suffering because of it.
He needs competition in the squad, which, at the moment, he doesn’t. Should have been replaced by Spence after they scored their first goal. Was surprised he wasn’t subbed, even after getting booked.
I guess as he’s young you could make the point that he’s only young and is still learning.

I tend to look at what Rose & Walker were still like at that age (and for some years further) vs. what you hope Dog (and they) would become......
thats a myth that hes neat and tidy, because he does that little touch he does with his foot all slanted and shit. watch his passes, so poor to team mates. he gives simple 8 yard passes as hospital balls.
people went overboard because he has a decent first touch and looks like he should be quick and powerful (which he isnt as hes shown today by being soft in a challenge). hes a very one dimensional FB. id rather see spence or gray instead of him, he should have to earn his place back now. not been good enough for a very long time and today was the straw that broke the camels back.
People forget.... Walker is remembered for being a bit of a brain-farter (it's a rep that never truly left him); but the moody fans here nearly drove Rose away and he never did truly forgive us (something he reflected upon when he started speaking out about his mental health at the tail end of his career).
People forget that it took time (and a loan) to get him to his best level.... A level that he never really found again after that nasty injury in 2016/17.
Wouldn’t say it’s a myth, he’s technically good on the ball and gets himself out of tight situations well and his combination play is good in that area but think that clouds people’s judgement of his game at both ends of the pitch. Those areas he quite poor in imo.
yea i hear ya. neat and tidy on the ball to me means someone who doesnt lose it and is clean. i watch udogie and hes sloppy too often for me to say hes neat and tidy. also hangs onto it too long when needs to release it quicker, you could say that for most of them tho!
maybe he could be a top FB, but for that to happen he needs to be a lot sharper in his brain, thats the hard part of football.
