I don't think he's particularly complacent, I think he is over used and not being defensively. Coached. Reminds me of Kyle Walker pre Poch.
We always seem to win these kind of stats. Never seems to translate into PL title.
In 2017 we had the most goals scored and least goals conceded. We still didn't win anything that season.
Agree - he’s a good ball carrier but he’s not dangerous in the final third and is different to Porro

what are his strengths other than looking ok dribbling the ball 25 yards? yea, emerson was absolute toilet but that doesnt mean udogie is good lol.
He’s can carry the ball more than 25 yards. Good defensively in duels, switches off from crosses and averages run the air
I wouldn’t start him if everyone is fit, and I would buy in Jan - but he’s young and has strengths and potential. Not a write off at all this age

who do you start over him? spence? i agree we defo need to buy in january because udogie as the only recognised LB is not good enough.

VDV for me - superb passer of the ball. Zips it deliciously and carries it well
hes looked poor when hes standing up to a winger whos trying to go past him, body positioning all wrong and timing. he doesnt even get goal side instinctively, thats a huge worry for a footballer nevermind a defender.
can have all the pace in the world, if you got shit for brains it doesnt mean much.
quite like having an actual CB whos central with the pace of VDV. but yea he can prob do a decent job. clean passer of the ball i agree.
I would basically play a back 3 with VDV at LB generally sitting and covering unless space opens up and we shuffle
I rate him but it’s impossible to say how good he is or isn’t because he’s chronically overplayed
What all these charts have shown me. Is how good a job Slot is doing, Liverpool players seem to hardly feature, yet there they are 8points clear.
It almost wouldn't surprise me if Gray played a half as RB and a half on the left tomorrow, just to make sure Porro & Udogie only need play 45 mins each!
