Player Destiny Udogie

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I hear you but is it just City that can do that with wages?

75k pw sounds decent but Villa are paying Ian Maatsen 100k pw. Wan Bissaka is on 90k pw.

We underpay wages compared to a lot of clubs we are competing with.
It's just an issue of terminology, but I'd suggest that these clubs are overpaying as opposed to us underpaying.

However the end result is the same, our players can look at others elsewhere and decide that they could be earning more.

What should Udogie be on then in that case, seeing he was on £15k p/w when he was at Udinese, he then doubled his money to £30k when he first signed and then got a 150% increase in the first 6 months?

Are we meant to increase his wage when he hasn't deserved a pay hike just because other clubs are paying more, that's not a good strategy.

The issue with the wages isn't things like these, I don't have a problem with a sensible strategy, the issue is lowering the wage bill and replacing the established players with kids with 0 experience and expecting us to compete.

Is it even about what a player should be on?

Or

More about what the market decides they could be on?

You need a balance between competing with the market to win and sticking to your own ideas and structures.

Levynomics has always been far more leaned towards sticking to his model, even if that costs us when it comes to competing against the market to win.

True however in this instance Destiny could be on double his wage, what's stopping him with being linked to City or them being interested? All they're going to do is offer more anyway if they really want him.

That's the reality of being part of a football food chain, players can always be offered more money if a club really wants them...KDB and Salah can Triple their wages playing in Saudi if they want to for example, it's what it is 🤷‍♂️

But they would then have to pay more than they maybe want to or more than other options on the market.

That’s the nature of competing against the market.

Both way options now for the Get Rid crew when he puts in a good performance for City then the We Have No Ambition mob steps in shouting we sell our best players (Usually the same voices)

Get a big bid and let him go Sick of players not performing.

Not performing under this clown of a manager you mean. Who rushed him back after his operation in the summer, played him every game despite having Spence there before the player then broke down again, got injury after injury and couldnt retain form at all. Then lost confidence.

He's a good player. Don't be fooled into judging him now. Remember Rose and Walker pre Poch, it isnt such a dissimilar situation.

Hope you are right.

Don't get the excitement around selling Udogie. As if we are going to reinvest the money in a top left back like Ait Nouri, Robinson or Kerkez 🤣 It'll be Walker getting replaced by Aurier all over again or even worse!

Spence would end up as our only senior left back who's not even a left back, and we'd buy a totally unexposed young left back as Udogie's replacement (who we probably loan out in year 1) and hope that in 2 years he becomes as good as Udogie and we can sell him for profit!

I see fans getting excited about the idea of selling Romero. Same way I saw fans excited about selling Kane for 100. Its never good to be selling starting players.

Fans always do this, when our players aren't playing well they're ready to throw them on the scrapheap not taking into account the circumstances of playing under a manager who hasn't set the team up properly and a set of players losing confidence and many of them mentally checked out and all of a sudden they're shit.

I’d keep him and see whether a new manager can get the best out of him.

But if City are willing to offer at least £60m (if they are that desperate) and we invest in improving the squad (not signing expensive journeymen ), then I’m fine with it too.

Yay x 100000000000000000000000.

Instead sign me a guy who fights for the team, leaves it all out on the pitch, loves defending, doesn't just run forward for the sake of it, can pass, cross...
I'd be really suspect of the fact that Pep thinks he can be part of cites future. Because looking at this post from Jaynola Jaynola it's identical to posts about Rose and Walker, when Pochettino arrives... buy a coach who can actually coch football not whatever the fuck Postecoglou is doing and let him decide who he wants to keep.
