Player Djed Spence

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Anyone else really bored of Spence at LB?

It's really painful to watch when he gets into the final third.

He and Xavi passing to each other aimlessly with no clue as to how to get the ball into the box.
I've said for months we are going to end up with half the player he should be. He needs playing at rightback for six months. And I no longer care if that's at Porro's expense because hes better than him. This is an oddly cowardly bit of management from Frank and Spurs in general. We are going to diminishing our own asset.

Maybe frank would love to rotate him with porro but unfortunately he only has one left back and he's always injured

Him & Xavi upset me tonight...... We were on the brink of a 5 v 3 break late in the 2nd half and the pair of them just stopped dead about 30 yards from their goal and the overload was gone.

Unacceptable from 2 lads that only had to play 25mins.

I think he’s the best 1v1 full back I’ve seen since prime Walker but as a modern full back I don’t think he offers much on the ball. I know he plays on the left for us but never a threat going forward. Maybe we’d see more if he played on the right. Porro is so up and down so when Udogie is back I’d like to see him play there because I’m not sure if he’s got the tools to be a top full back when on the ball and attacking.

I sort of agree except that Udogie is also shite going forward. Brilliant carrier and gets into great positions but he's scared of doing anything in the final third. Will always look around for someone else to make the killer pass/shot even when he has worked the space himself

Agree 100%. I’m tired of seeing Porro played RB all the time- how about we give him some games at LB?

Arrived as an attacking RWB. Scored 20 yard screamers for Forest, has pace to Burn..,

He’s definitely not offering much going forward but it’s not from lack of ability

I don’t think we’ve seen anything that he’s capable of going forward which is sad because what he produced at Forest made us think we were getting this brilliant Kyle Walker type full back. If he plays on the right he might find that confidence and play that way again. He’s got a call up for England because nobody can beat him on a 1v1. He’s a ridiculous athlete and he should be using that as a weapon not just defensively but in the opposition final third.
I like Porro but he’s annoying me just now and would prefer Spence there but with Udogie out that won’t happen. We could play Micky at left back but now Romero is out that means it’s Porro right back and Spence left back.

Ndiaye dominated him, so much so that Simons or one of the DMs always had to be readily available on that side as an additional left back

Udogie in his brief appearances this season has looked clearly better so far.

I didn't think he offered much today.

Granted he was isolated going forward and he got more support defensively as the game went on.

He’s very negative on the ball for me. Good defender and feel safe when he’s up against a winger but offers nothing going forward.
We all are - it's clearly instruction at the moment. Add to that the chopping and changing of our players on the left and it's hard to build a rapport. I don't think Spence is negative by temperament.

Thought he was good defensively especially after Ndiaye did him early doors.

Porro and Djed should be rotating.

Levy needed a LB and a LCB in the summer, but what we need, is not part of the Levynomics equation.

Im one o Djeds biggest fans but apart from nice little through ball in final third of 2nd half,he offered nothing offensively whole game.
All passes where back and couple sideways that i remember.
Def not doing him any favours on the left and sooner The Big Dog back can hopefully rotate with Pedro.
Archie filled in well there but that lad on the right would have roasted him.
Great result ,but that left side is an issue as most teams know Kudos on the right is our main threat as stands, and will be doubled up on stifling him.
