Player Djed Spence

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Conte never wanted him so he played politics with the pawn and banished him to prove a point to the club
I'm surprised you blame Conte, the board bought a player that Conte didn't want, so they shafted Spence not Conte and in fact they shafted him twice because they went out and bought Porro. So they are not even backing their own choice.

Agree, of course the root cause was the bald twat who made the club signing but contes not blameless

How were they shafted by Conte?
We have been over this endlessly prehaps your not being obtuse but I suspect not. I'll very briefly give the cliff notes. He miss- managed the loans of both Gil and Spence ( you can go out on loan, you can't go out ok then you can go out, ) starving them of game time and competition. He did not use them efficiently in cup games, throwing them in to hugely experimental sides with little or no structure. He spoke openly dismissively of'club signings' (guess what phoney Tony there all club signings)

He treated White ridiculously, as he did Sarr. The man was not interested in Spurs future therefore he cared not a jot about harming or hindering our young players development. He over played old maxed out pros and killed the motivation and pathway of the academy. I genuinely don't blame Romanine Mundel or any of our academy prospects for looking elsewhere for chances because the love affair with the last few coaches and old men is crushing..

Gil wanted to leave on loan and now he's in the Europa cup final with a shot at winning more than Kane and most of our side, that's a hugely successful loan I would have thought, Spence seems to have done OK at Rennes. White and Sarr are players with potential but we were a side gunning for CL football. If we want to give young players a chance then Mason seems the kind of coach we should go for. I don't know if Slot will give more chances to young players tha Conte did when he's under pressure to qualify for the CL.

Spence is no Salah, he saw Spence in training and decided he wasn't good enough. We'll find out if he was right or wrong when Spence comes back under a new manager.

Didn't give him a chance because he was playing politics with the board, he didn't even play him in the Cup matches, Jose did more for our youngsters than Conte.

Conte was a total twat, seemingly out to screw everything up the second last season finished. So Spence may well turn out to be decent, but tbh, top managers usually know who is or isn't good enough to bother giving a chance.

Despite everything, I feel Mourinho got it right (except Dier). The ones he refused to use never managed to prove him wrong.
