He had a great run down the right wing, acres of space, but Werner was too dumb or arrogant to play him through. It really bothers me that our senior players tend to do that- especially when they are so toothless in attack themselves.I thought Spence made an impact tonight, as did all of the subs. Let's hope he can get more game-time, and progress.
I didn't want to say so, but I thought Werner was the weakest of the subs to come on, although I was expecting him to replace Son on the left, but what do I know?He had a great run down the right wing, acres of space, but Werner was too dumb or arrogant to play him through. Ange totally blew it with that call. Werner isn’t good enough to play RW- he’s only an outside winger in Ange’s system. You could see that in Werner’s reluctance to use his right foot to pass the ball. I honestly think he may have been incapable of playing Spence down the wing, having to use his left and having his angle cut off by the defender. Sad he can’t go over the top either but that’s Werner for you.I didn't want to say so, but I thought Werner was the weakest of the subs to come on, although I was expecting him to replace Son on the left, but what do I know?
Completely agree, and if so many of us can see it, why can't the Boss-man?Ange’s unwillingness to bench Son when he is ineffective is really starting to cost us.
The way I see it, only a few possibilities:Completely agree, and if so many of us can see it, why can't the Boss-man?

Spence needs more respect from the senior players- he looked really threatening making runs this preseason. There’s no reason any of our players should think they’re too good to make the pass to the correct option.
Absolutely agree- I just don’t see anything being done like that right now. It seem it’s being handled rather ineptly right now, unfortunately.Perhaps Son goes on a run and we're all gushing over him again in a few games.....
BUT
There's a way to phase ageing players out gradually whilst still calling upon their strengths.......... Pretending players drop off in a binary-fashion is a foolish path............. And if that is the belief then you make sure to sell them early-ish before that 'crash' happens.
Have you considered a directive from "Upstairs" with regard to merchandise value etc?(very cynical, but that's me).The way I see it, only a few possibilities:
1) Boss man is stubborn
2) Boss man is dumb
3) Both
That’s what you think was the deciding factor in the game? Interesting.I think we would have won this game if he started on the left instead of Udogie.
yea totally- god i hope not but we might actually be contractually obligated to play him, as we stupidly did with Kane.Have you considered a directive from "Upstairs" with regard to merchandise value etc?(very cynical, but that's me).

Somebody like Ancelotti doesn’t have this problem and knows how to transition players through various phases of their careers.
You certainly aren't.
Udogie will soon be back, been out a while and didnt really have a worthwhile pre season.I think we would have won this game if he started on the left instead of Udogie.
Yeah, he looks 90% of the way there. Gassed out but a bit more of a burn in and he'll be good. The guy's a terrific footballer.Udogie will soon be back, been out a while and didnt really have a worthwhile pre season.
Really liked the way he came across their striker claoer to the end and ushered him across goal and allowed Vic to gather the ball!Looked good in his cameo as a LB. Put in probably our most dangerous cross of the day, and (more importantly) tracked back really well.
