It’s becoming more and more obvious we kept him because the manager was told to get a tune out of him as we couldn’t sell him for what levy wants for him.

Yeah that’s the set of problems there isn’t it.
We should have just taken the hit on him in the summer to get him out the club and got KWP in to cover both fullback positions and satisfy the HG space. While I’m sure we could have got a better player in, he was the smartest transfer we could have done in the summer if he wanted to come back. Too smart for us though.

Tbh I don’t think Ange has a choice now. Porro and Udogie start Europa, one of them has to get rested in the PL, Gray playing CB…. Spence is the only one with 2 working legs
I think it must be a bit of a problem for Postecoglou now, because if Spence isn't hitting the levels of stink we have seen off both Udogie and Porro...wow will he look stupid. He must be half hoping he drops a brick....
Ironically he needs that performance to make him look silly as well because he needs a win more than he needs to be right about Spence.

I don't know anything about his ego tbh, I've never met him and nothing in his media appearances tells me his ego is any bigger than the next coach.
I have met him, and he's the coach I have seen talk himself into the most corners because he doesn't like being second guessed. Example: "I'm just not interested in set peice defending, I'm just not".....admits later they are working on them, after they clearly improve. The other classic is the "No I said I always win something in the second season mate, it's just a fact" This one in particular was ALL ego. It's an excruciating watch because it's so avoidable and an obvious snare by the journo. Ange bit...ego. Even Gold the most tame of house cats have said he says things just out of wanting the final word. Hubris.
