In terms of ability on the ball, difference between him and Udogie is like night and day. He looks much more comfortable in tight spaces, his vision is way better, and unlike Udogie he can often pull it to his weak foot because he's actually capable of using it, which makes him hard to predict for opponents. He never crumbled against their high intensity press today, wonderful stuff.

Considering Ange asks his fullbacks to play like central midfielders, him being right footed is actually an advantage when he's playing on the left. I can genuinely see him keeping his place even after Udogie comes back, he’s barely putting a foot wrong whenever he’s given the chance.
Much better recovery pace too -left back still dampens his attacking play. Will be a better RB

Just a brilliant performance. He was so aggressive with Salah and that’s how a full back should play. Takes a lot of chances but can wriggle out of situations when it doesn’t look possible. He’s a brute of an athlete too.

The way they've done you dirty since coming here, we don't even deserve you to give us a performance like that.

What's occurred here with this player has been nothing short of criminal.

And Ange should at least have done a month in solitary for not including him in the Euro squad.

Spurs most natural defender. Just kept Salah quiet.
Class player today and not even in his favoured position.
He’s been doing well in every match he’s played so far.
I still wonder why he just got his chance by default.
Why on earth didn't Angelos give him a chance before?

Wow - what a performance. Guys been great in the most difficult circumstances and in multiple positions.
Begs the question - what has happened in training here and at other clubs or has he just grown up and knuckled down?
Now looks a proper player for us.
Keep it going Djed.

We can't know what goes on behind the scenes but I assume that the attitude/discipline improvement trajectory had some regressions after the Coventry game and that those had to be paid for before he could be given a chance. A tough call if it actually was something like that because it put a heap of pressure on Porro and Udogie. But hopefully the right call in the long run.
