Monster performance! He seems to really shine when facing quality players (he pocketed salah a couple weeks back) I doubt Ange drops porro, so he’ll be in for a real tough decision when udogie is back!

Turns out he's a VERY good defender.... Not just a wannabe winger.
This current iteration is another world from the player we saw get a couple of cameos under Conte...... He looked utterly devoid of positional/tactical awareness.
Only thing sort of said he's in the team til destiny is backAnge very complimentary of Djed in post match interview and said he’s worked hard to get in the team.
Sounds like there were question marks over work ethic (which was suspected) and he’s worked hard to get past that.

Why would Ange Postecoglou "have an agenda against" Spence when he's the only reason (apart from Djed himself) that Spence is still at Spurs this season (and, I believe, been given a new contract)?
Spence was done at this club at the end of last season. Frozen out by Conte; went on loan where his managers soon benched him because of his attitude. We all expected him to be sold... Thank fuck the kid grew up a bit, and the manager gave him a last chance when all others before hadn't.
He could be anything. So calm in a crisis. Head and shoulders above everyone else on the pitch today. So pleased for him.
Also... credit where its due to Levy who spunked 20 million only for Conte to never once give him a chance. If he continues this trajectory it could be the best 20 million Levy's ever spent.
Hard to play CB as a youth so he can defend but what an athlete !!

It's time to give him his deserved dues, he doesn't get enough of that on here
I think there has definitely been a long-term issue with Spence's work ethic, almost all his managers have not been impressed. Ange still doesn't seem to fully trust him and it's probably right to lay down a challenge to the player by making clear that he is still just keeping the seat warm for Udogie. He has to make himself undroppable.
If you watch the post game press conference, Ange absolutely does trust him. He said Djed being available was tne thing that gave him the confidence to rest VDV again today. He was absolutely gushing when talking about him taking on elite wingers like Mbuemo.
Djed is a positive story for the season mate. There is no need to look for negatives in it.
Don't think that's what he meant. I think he's basically saying Djed will have to hold down that LB position alone until Destiny gets back.
There is no way Djed goes back to the bench every week once Udogie is back. We will FINALLY have a FB rotation to keep them all fresh.
Best LB performance since he shut Salah down last month.

He's doing a pretty stand up job of doing that so far. Since he's got his shot at regular games, I can't think of a single one where he hasn't been a standout performer. With each game he just seems to get better and better.
If this kid keeps his head straight, the sky's the limit for him.
