Player Djed Spence

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Porro has 2 goals and five assists in 24 matches
Spence has 0 goals and 1 assist in 15 matches.
There is a danger that Spence is not effective coming forward. Time will tell
The contrast between them yesterday was outrageous. I rest my case. Its no longer even close them assists are very expensive indeed. Yesterday Porro looked like he'd won a competition to play. I guess we stopped counting Spence goal that saved the fraud against Coventry.

Because we didn't purchase a LB in the summer transfer window.
Hang on.

Ange has played Archie Gray at right back, in Porro's absence, while Spence played down the left.

Gray has also played at left back, after Udogie was injured, while Spence was being left out of the side completely.

Who do you honestly believe is the best right back Spurs have available?

We only have one RB, Porro was brought in to be a RWB when Conte was the manager IIRC.

What I meant though is the reason Spence plays on the left presently is because we're short in that position. it seems like out of our available players Spence is the best LB. What do you suggest, play Spence as RB,. Gray as LB, and drop Porro?

Like so many others whose only excellent performances at the highest level have also only ever come under Ange.

Udogie, Sarr, you could argue Van de Ven and Porro, these guys peaks as footballers, the reason we think they can play in the first place, is because of what they've done under Ange.

The tactics fail to get sufficient results for the team, sure, perfectly fair argument. He's broken players physically, hard to refute.

But on an individual level him turning players into worse versions of themselves just doesn't seem accurate at all and yet people keep saying so.

Coaching a player's better instincts out of them over a period of time is a real thing....

Eg. Conte did it with Son and Kulu.

Combined with physically unsustainable tactics; it's perfectly plausible Ange could be making players worse (or frustrated and disinterested).

My opinion is that Djed Spence is so obviously the best right back at THFC it's fucking embarrassing that he has been left out of the side completely since the current manager arrived in the summer of 2023.

Spence is the best available left or right back at the club as far as I'm concerned.

He can defend and attack in equal measure.

Pedro Porro is a clear defensive weakness, exploited by every opposition team, every time he is selected to play at right back for THFC.

For me that is just a simple fact that is bleedin obvious.

How many goals against has Porro cost Spurs?

Pedro Porro is playing at right back.

A case could be made for playing Porro on the wing, in rotation with Brennan but; Spence is the best Spurs have as a full back.

Spence can defend and attack.

Also; Spence can't put outswinging crosses in down the left.

If Spence plays 24 games down the right, instead of Porro, that would tell you more regarding stats so far at Spurs.

If Ange can't see that Spence is better than Porro he deserves the sack.

If Ange has been leaving Spence out for the last two seasons, on someone elses say so, I want Ange sacked.

THFC has a disease.

It needs to be correctly diagnosed before we move forward.

I'm sorry but I seem unable to post gifs, because I'm posting the round of applause one mentally. The bit that some seem worryingly oblivious to, is the decision making by the coaches at the club. Spence's arc, is one of the most troubling things about their tenure. Why (what at the moment looks like the most talented footballer in the club) is being used to accommodate one of the worst is very much in keeping with their ineptitude.

I'd have so much more respect for these people if they had come and said 'blokes a dick head, as laid back as the Dude from the Big Labowski. None of us get him, so we are selling the wally' This would have been so much more honest and legitimate than playing to sterotypes and floating incoherent junk about not meeting the standards and attitude...STANDARDS! Porro would not get into some national league sides for months( mitigation tiredness I know).

But there's so much that's just obvious incompetence: the Europ list, the goal keepers, Reguilon, Spence, Gray Davis at centerback lately. Austin Whitemen Forsters peaking order. Donnely, the loans generally. Is that 12m on Kinsky smart when one looks at Keeley? Changing medical staff mid season. I've zero trust in the people calling the shots at Spurs from Levy down to every member of the coaching staff.

Creative impact doesn't only equate to assists.

Besides, take 2 players:

1 = 9/10 attacker & 5/10 defender
1 = 7/10 attacker & 8/10 defender

Who is the better player overall?

THFC has become a chumocracy hasn't it?

Conte spelled it out.

The sentiment for Hugo Lloris from our support appalled me.

Hugo stole a living at Spurs, for the last 5 years of his career, while Brandon Austin was completely overlooked, despite looking as though he is a very capable keeper; especially at all the things Hugo was terrible at.

Hugo was below average at catching the ball and playing out with his feet. Austin has proved himself competant at both in the handful of opportunities he has been given at the age of 26.

This comes from the top down in my opinion.

THFC need to be rid of Levy from the day to day running of the football operation.

It needs to happen soon.

Ok o

If you have a fb who constantly joins the attacks- and is actually not effective - as in his final ball let's him down - it's counter productive.

There is a chance Spence flatters to decieve - looks good but produces very little offensively.
Under these circumstances you would be better if he defended more and attacked less.

We saw it with Rose- who fucked up countless attacks - got into good positions but then hit a wayward cross.

Porro is at least pretty good offensively.
Ideally you want your attacking proper creative players to get the ball in the final 3rd - and the fbs less frequently.

Walker played much deeper for Pep than he did for us.

Could you tell me what Porro would have to do to be dropped from this team?

Which one of Villa's goals yesterday was he not responsible for?
They forgotten Reguilon exists like they did Spence......

"Porro pretty good offensively "
"Chance Spence flatters to decieve offensively "

This fanbase Porro is hemorrhaging us goals, that attacking prowess would have sure come in handy against Villa.... Deary me. Why have we got people prepared to simply pick a favorite and ignore reality..

It does need to, but it won't.

Levy cannot find a way to the next level with this club. Because he always thinks he knows best. Like that little pep talk to Ndombele.

Ah, the great fighter Daniel!

Have a decent LB so Spence and Porro could share the RB duties, Porro needs to be rotated. When BJ is fit a lot of the crosses come from Porro, BJ is pretty crap at crossing.

I didn't watch the Villa match yesterday because it was on at my dinner time.

Porro would have ruined your appetite so be grateful for that.

Spurs need to offload Pedro Porro.

He is a shite right back.
