Player Dominic Solanke

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Striker market is piss poor, so few quality options. Can see lots of negativity around the signing but it makes a lot more sense than Richarlison did at the time, let's be honest. I think he'll do well.

Welcome to Tottenham big man!
Got a lot of good attributes imo, could be a great signing and he will get so many chances in Anges system.
Far superior player to Richy and keeps Son away from the 9 spot!

Not the first striker I would have wanted, but I’d be happy to be proven wrong. If he clicks he could bag 15-20 goals

The only realistic options I can think of which could’ve been better are

Osimhen - total unknown quantity in England and used to being big fish in small pond but could’ve been an Isaak at Newcastle level game changer for us.

Watkins - Similiar profile to Richi and even Son in some regards, Solanke offers something very different to what we have as more of a traditional no 9.

Wasn't too sure about him when the links turned up and to be honest I'm not completely convinced but now he's coming he will get my backing 100% and even if he isn't levels above Richy at least we can have two options to rotate and push each other. Can only be a good thing.

You hit the nail on the head. The market has changed, as markets do. If his performance from the past season is repeatable, and there's little reason to believe it isn't, sixty million is a fair price. It also puts Postecoglou in position to demonstrate that his system works. If you don't get him a striker of Solanke's ability how will you know if it does or doesn't? I'm excited about the signing and I imagine it gives the team a morale boost knowing there's a threat through the middle Spurs didn't have before.

If he bangs 20 EPL goals again then 60m will have been cheap by today's standards.

...........Even then the "but what else does he do?" crowd will still keenly pick away at him.

🎶He’s not Crouch but he’s so lanky……🎵

And me is hoping he is not too wanky,
Like Soldado, Jansen and those other planky…

I’ve made a half decent attempt at a song for him to the tune of ´Hanky-panky’ by Madonna, but I’m too much of a lady post it.

Ahhhhhh, that sounds like too much fun to tease us like that!
:udogiearms:

If i list a load of potential rhyming words and you just cut n paste them it'll be like it's not really you saying them.......

Skanky
Janky
Manky
Stanky
Wanky
Danky
Cranky
Spanky
Frankly
Shankly
Ummmmm...... Planky? .....Flank-y?

How's that?

Thank fuck we’ve got a striker who can hold up the ball. I like how he can score out of nothing, and also he’s gonna on the end of all those balls zipping in from Son & Johnson. His attitude will be one of the big factors for Ange wanting him. Defo prefer him over Toney.

We could have sold Richy and got Isak? Maybe? Agree though, well pleased
