Player Dominic Solanke

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Liked how he managed to get past guys and showed that he has speed. Also created space for himself. Would have expected a goal from the chances but apart from that, not a bad game.

Anyone down on Solanke after one game should have their head examined. He was fine. Didn't get too much service and had a couple chances to score. Give the guy 10 games to establish himself before trying to push him out of the door.

Needs a goal to take the pressure off and tbh I'm not super convinced that will happen currently.

Wasn't a massive fan of his signing to begin with and little last night changes that.
I think I’m Ange’s head I’d say he is there more to hold the ball than be an out and out scorer, had a good *first* game. I think we need to concentrate more as *suppoeters* to actually support rather than being sit at home Shearers and Linikers.

watching it back. he is lively, always trying to create angles to get the ball. touch looks very good for his size. can play the game too, good link up with midfielders when its on.

think hell be a solid buy even for the money. 65m isnt groundbreaking in todays market. he looks a good player.

Not interested in Solanke too much for now.

Big pressure on his shoulders. I am sceptical but he is ours now and that's it.

He ain't bringing the change we need as a club. Neither will he be to blame if we continue to fall short.

Didn't get too much service
When have any of our strikers gotten any service? Son barely got any service last season and the times he did, he was absolutely clinical. And Richie had a patch of games where he was scoring for fun with next to zero supply when everyone was injured and/or out at Afcon/Asia.

We didn't need an unproven 65 million striker that's scored 10+ goals in the PL once. What we needed was an Eze or Neto. A bona fide winger that can actually beat a man and get the ball to our striker.

son service as a striker is literally getting the ball to his feet where he has space. solanke and richy can have balls whipped into an area at pace where they have a chance of getting a touch on it. sons not even going to attempt to head a whipped in cross battling with a CB.

judge solanke for spurs after a run of games where he has wide players who have some football intelligence.

Thought he was fine. Actually quicker than i expected.

But he has to take his chances. He had 2 really good ones that should be going in.

If he had willing runners on either side of him he would have been even better then he was. Many occasions he had to come deep and run with the ball because Son was M.I.A and Johnson wasn't willing to run with the ball. I knew this would be a problem prior to him signing but the hope is that Odobert will provide that.

Despite his faults; from the left Werner will try to beat his man and cross too.

Last season there was very little between Watkins and Solanke. Solanke arguably should have gone ahead of Toney. Southgate only took 3 actual strikers.

Everyone is behind Kane. Hope this helps.

He could be a spectacular flop. The metrics and data - which we are now using - suggest he could thrive.

Let's see what happens before we shit the bed.
yes was his first competive game since he signed

Yeah, he arguably should have done better with the chances he had, but I was wondering if it was some nerves at the very start. The big thing to me was that his movement was good, got himself into dangerous positions, and was able to generate some shots on goal. I think the sharpness will come.
