It wasn’t long ago this season that people were saying how big of a miss Solanke was when he got injured.

Now he’s come back and taking a few games to find his scoring form and everyone says he’s shit.

It’s tiring .
He's not shit, he's just not worth 65 mil and shouldn't be our record signing, the guy we signed to lead the line. Really he's a 30mil player and should be a bench option for a club like ours...provided we were genuinely serious about wanting to compete. But then you only need to look at our chairman, manager and some of our star players...and that tells you all you need to know about Spurs.

Solanke is on 90K a week … Mid-table level player on mid-table wages who’s playing for the 14th place team in the EPL …

For comparison, Solanke’s replacement at Bournemouth (Evanilson) is in 85K a week - The starting No. 9 at f’in Bournemouth is on ONLY 5K a week less than the 9th richest club the world.

Levy Out!
I like big Dom, I respect his dedication.

But Evanilson is different gravy pedigree-wise. The kid is two years younger, a full 🇧🇷 international (okay Brazil are a bit shit right now but still), he scored 60 odd goals for Porto, a proper name in European football. Taking time to adapt to the PL, which is entirely natural...he's still bagged 9 goals in 24. Won't be at Bournemouth for long and 85k/week won't be his biggest payday...whereas Spurs and 90k pw is likely Dom's ceiling.

I don’t know how it is not obvious for everyone till now that Levy’s business is not about the fee but the wages. It’s always the wages that make it good/ possible business for him, Solanke was 65 M euros and salary of 21 M euros in 6 years equal 14.3 M euros per year total wages and fees that’s means 300 k euros per week, that’s Marmous salary without the fee. Solanke is a good player not elite and he is not a costly transfer. You can calculate all the business in recent years and it’s economical purchases

Until he signs for Spurs and then he’s a 30m bench option at best.

Evanilson is different gravy pedigree wise but still hasn't scored half the amount of goals that Solanke scored last season under the same coach

I genuinely hate this thread, it turns people stupid.

I feel for him more than any other player in our squad. His work rate is immense and holds the ball up well. In our system with two wingers who are negative then his numbers will never be at a level where he’s classed as a very good striker.
I bet anyone on here that his numbers would dramatically improve with Tel and Odobert as our wingers than Johnson and Son over a 10 game period. The game is always congested because our two wingers want to come inside and be safe more often than not. We need wingers that can get at full backs with pace and take them out of the game which then gives a centre back a decision to either stay central or come out and engage with the winger.
What happens with us is the opposing teams two centre backs stay central and make it difficult for Dom to find space to score. His movement is good but because teams are so comfortable defensively against us they are compact and less space for any decent movement for him to be a threat. The poor fucker ends up being a spectator when our wingers get the ball in the final third.

Football is an utter bore just now but there’s only two teams I’ve really enjoyed watching in about a year. That’s Spain and PSG because every time their wide players get it they only have one thing on their minds and that’s to commit the full back. It’s aggressive as fuck but so effective and it’s great to watch.

If you laugh at what I said about Dom, maybe you're part of the problem, pal.

You say you're Spurs and you want success, but you're happy with Ange as head coach and B-listers like Dom joining for record money to take over from the world's best No 9. You're also drooling at the idea of signing known troublemaker and hugely overrated Cherki cause he can do a few fancy stepovers. Maybe stop treating 'Levynomics for Dummies' as the Bible.

Oh and for the record, before you go for another cheap shot, I only said that in my opinion Evanilson has got a higher ceiling than Dom, not that he's the next Ronaldo Fenomeno or that Spurs shoulda signed him instead of Solanke.

I laughed because it’s always the same, other teams players and Spurs players are B Listers

Sometimes that’s fair but a lot of the time it’s repetitive and irrational.

Evanilson has done nothing to show he’s as superior to Solanke at Bournemouth, let alone to show he could do it under the increased pressure at Spurs.

It gets so relentlessly miserable that the only thing I can do is laugh.

All was going well in terms of analysis and then the same old sh!t.

65 million. Who has paid more for a striker in the PL?
