Player Dominic Solanke

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Yeah...is it really that surprising that our 2 most dedicated, relentless pressers under Ange who ran themselves into the dirt pretty much every second they were on the pitch have been struck down with long term injuries?

If you keep pushing players, especially those that are willing to give you 100% at the expense of their own bodies, eventually they're gonna break.

He actually ran more under Iraola, the reason I think his body broke down is the workload on his body due to the schedule, he went from playing 1 game a week with adequate rest to 2 games per week and European football, that was the major difference.

I know Iraola's all about hard running too but I struggle to imagine Solanke running more than he did under Ange last season. Maybe he did more outright sprints for Bournemouth but last season it was Forrest Gump shit all game every game.

Just found this:

He led the entire league for double pressures per 90 last season. Very unsurprising.

EDIT: The fact he was doing this while we were in Europe is even more insane. Bruno's the only regular starter playing in Europe that comes close (Jota was always rotated) and Solanke had almost 50% more than him. Pretty much all the others are playing for teams with 1 game per week.

Did Solanke take a flight across the Bermuda triangle a few months ago as seems to have disappeared?
My mate, who works at Hotspur Way, says he's locked himself in a cupboard with an axe, and trained negotiators are trying to find a way of getting him to come out without causing damage to the nice building.
Keeps threatening to break a coathanger if they make him play again.

He was at a film premiere the other week so at least he is getting out and can actually walk!

We need to start putting into players contracts that you’ll only get half pay while out injured. I suspect that would hurry a few back quicker.
I'm not sure hurrying back our crippled players is such a bright idea...

Also not sure why the notion that our players are a bunch of shirkers who are feigning injury has become so popularised, in Solanke's case (aside from the fact that he seems like the last person who would be doing so) if you were pulling a fast one then I doubt an extensive months long injury is the best way to go about it. Even if you're willing to believe that he or any of the others would do this, it's not like they're just phoning in sick and staying home, they'll be being constantly assessed by a crack team of experts.

And that's where you need to look IMO, if anyone ought to be incentivised by monetary punishment it's the medical department who are overseeing this clusterfuck. They apparently have been overhauled in the last 12 months, and somehow the club managed to make the situation even worse...

It was tongue in cheek btw

They need some motivation though!

Do we have any hypothesis who might have killed big Dom yet :D ?

And why are we pretending that he is injured? some kind of insurance scam :D ?

"Slight knock" - 4 months passed and no signs of him being alive...

Absolutely odd how this has been handled.

Club should be more transparent about his injury now.

Frank needs to explain why there's no update.

Yeah he needs to come out and give updates, he's being vague and short because he's getting pissed off but he needs to rise above it otherwise the support (what's left of it) is going to dwindle.
