My last comment on this unless it rears its head with wider input.
Nothing I am saying now on Solanke is a new view. I think he is good. Nothing more. Good enough as our main striker? Nope.
Who would be markedly better, if not ideal? Not sure. I am not saying Evanilson would be markedly better and when you look at Delap, Wissa, arguably Gyokores, I am not naive enough to say getting better would be easy, but that's what we need, especially if we scramble safety (unlikely).
Solanke doesn't ever take this club to top 5 if he is considered our main striker but if he stays next season and if we get relegated he could run riot
As for me naming a striker who is better that we could get, I can't, but I'm not employed to do so.
Richy actually scores goals though and has been in this situation before. I wouldn’t have been starting him every game ahead of this joker.

Solanke isn't necessarily the problem its our atrocious wide men.
Put half decent wide players around solanke and our front line would so much more able to keep possession higher up the pitch and create better chances. Spence doesn't cross the ball, Udogie cant cross, muani and porro gave the ball away continously in good positions in the first half yesterday,
Richarlison cant play football properly so this doesn't matter to him, guess we need to just lump it in the box for one to drop to him and hope he bundles one in

That's a really long way of saying Richarlison is more likely to score than Solanke.
I don't care about non goal contributing football. They're centre forwards. I want the one who at least looks like scoring or assisting.
He actually looked good at Bournemouth, looks a different player now, yes, his service has been shit, but his all round game looks to have regressed.
He's been a massive disappointment imo. Would probably only keep him if we go down, if we stay up we need better.
His 15 appearances this year are the reason we’re going down? What did all our other strikers contribute? Richy got 9, what about everyone else in the role?
