Of course he is. This is by far the biggest job Gareth Southgate will ever do. It’s not even a competition.

He’s very settled in the role and under little pressure as a glorious quarter-final exit is viewed as success by the FA.

If Gareth walked now his job offers would be from the likes of Crystal Palace. I think he’s done a commendable job as NT coach and his temperament/style is suited to international football well, but as a coach he screams lower mid table.

Any other management job he gets will be less money, less high profile and more work. Why would anyone want to do that to themselves?

It'd be ridiculously stupid to keep him on if he fails at a 4th attempt.

If he wins it, sure. Keep him on.

You know what I could live with that as the deal. Win the trophy and you keep your job, don’t win and it’s time to go.

Southgate is a nice man but his football is boring and he isn’t the man to manage a team that has so many monster attackers.

100%. Play Rice with Maddison and Bellingham, Kane 9 and Foden and Saka. They all work hard, keep the ball well and have goal threat (apart from the lanky Goon). Southgate will never do that and will be wedded to a dual DM to create a back 6 even against average intl sides eg Rice with Hendo / or Phillips.

The GK is a massive problem, wouldn’t have Pickford in the squad - everything I don’t want in a keeper but who else? Trippier is finished, absolutely hard no at LB too on his weak foot. Maguire shite, Stones injured, he has no faith in Trent at FB

Would look at a back 4 or something like Shaw/or Chillwell, Bramthwaite, Dunk and Trent with Stones in if fit. That’s a really good side, focus on the attacking ability not worry about the back 4

The biggest tactical issue Southgate has is his insistence on playing 2 DM’s. Rice and Henderson/Philips means we have no ball control /creativity but he shits his pants at the thought of playing a middle three of Bellingham/Rice/Maddison which by the way would tear into most teams.

Instead he plays Bellingham/Rice/Henderson so we don’t run the play or create as much all because he is afraid, afraid of getting hit on the counter. The likes of Pep/Klopp also deal with these issues but they deal with them by being brave. If Pep was England manager we would not be playing Henderson or Philips, Henderson is finished and Philips is average.

Tool though he is Kyle Walker is by far the most OP rb we have. GK there's Pickford that's it that's all. Pickford Shaw/Chilwell Stones Braithwaite Walker Rice Bellingham Maddison Fodden Kane Saka
Sub: Ramsdale, Trent, Guehi, Dunk, Shaw/Chilwell Eze, Tony,

Phillips is not even average — at his best he’s an ok player but not been fit for year. If he starts two DM in the warm up, the FA should just sack him

No gravitas

Oh he has other tricks up his sleeve, 'Ol Gary.........

You watch; his recent CB at LB ("Look at me Pep!") experiment could prove an undoing at the Euro's if a proper LB doesn't stand up and put an end to it over the coming months.......... Our left flank was dead food as a result of it during the last int. break. The winger had literally no support and it was dragging the CF over to the left corner flag all game.

Then there's his propensity for playing a grafty MFer out on the wings which we should worry about if Rahsford & Grealish underwhelm for too much of the remainder of the season.

Lastly (as you touched upon); Jude, Foden & Maddison are very arguably 3 of our best 4/5 players and he'll bottle putting any more than one of them in the team at once.

Not for me. I would have Trent

Walker is consistent and solid, but Trent is just a star with the ball.
