England squad

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

The only team we beat in that tournament better than Sweden was The Netherlands and this squad isn’t as good as the one Southgate took to the Euros.

Isak, Gyokeres, Kulusevski, Bergvall, Elanga, Larsson…

I think that squad can beat the Dutch. It’s a bit of a golden generation right now.

Most of those names wouldn’t get in to the England team. I’d only want Isak in the squad at all right now.

Think they would be a very tough team to play for this England team.

If Henderson is in the England squad then Bergvall and Larsson can be in it.

Henderson is in the England squad for personality reasons, not talent reasons. Gallagher doesn’t make the England squad and he’s a better, higher profile player than that lot.

Sweden have a few interesting players and that’s it.

Always find it weird how strongly you defend the England squad. Never once seen you the same for Spurs.

The hoops you are jumping through to defend this particular England squad is a bit strange. I think most people can see the selection is not the strongest players available.

Yes, I am very strongly defending the England squad because I think we would probably beat Sweden.

The squad isn’t great - if you read up you’ll see I point out we’ve regressed talent wise and that this particular squad is very weak.

Almost all the players in it would still make the Sweden team .. maybe be serious and I won’t have to defend the team from un seriousness.

Spurs are basically undefendable, we are 14th. Only you defended Ange till the last possible moment.

He scored 36 goals and got 8 assists in 32 league games under Tuchel.
Yep, even so they were really poor as a team and Kane was invisible most of the games. Similar to the euros...Kane will score regardless.

Didn't help that the other atackers almost looked like they were told not to pass to Kane, especially sane. Not saying that was instructions but it was poor play all round

Half of those wouldn't get near our squad. I mean Kulusevski? Elanga? Really?

Gyokeres has only shown so far that he can score goals in poor leagues (Championship and Portugal) and right now isn't in the same galaxy as Kane. Isak is also far better for his club than he is Sweden. 15 goals in 50 caps isn't anything to write home about.

"Watching the Euros I felt tension and pressure on the shoulders of the players and they were playing not to lose.

"I want us to play with excitement and the hunger and desire to win...and the acceptance of failure is part of it, especially in football."

I love that. Exactly the right kind of message.

It doesn't matter if a striker does nothing for 89 minutes if he's scoring just about every game. Plus saying he was invisible most of their games is utter shite anyway. He was their best player last season by a country mile. He just didn't have as strong a second half of the season as the first because of injuries.

Yeah I quite enjoyed his not so subtle digs at Southgate. Modern day teams can’t play with fear and last summer we reeked of it. Amazing really we got as far as we did but we should have won that tournament.

Every time England fans underestimate other countries players and overrate our own.

If Kulusevski was English he would be in this England squad. Ironically because Spurs fans underrate him as a player, this post will get plenty of disagrees and probably some overconfident piss takes. Elanga probably doesn't quite make the Eng;and squad but he's had a better season than Rashford. He has the pace to absolutely frazzled any of the FBs picked by Tuchel.

We'd be favourites against Sweden but they would cause us serious problems.

I was critical of Tuchel not Kane, he is double the player again this season really involved and scoring at a similar rate. Job of a manager is to get the most out of a team not just get your striker scoring, he failed.

He was invisible a lot and their best player, both are true.

Kulu would definitely get in, especially with his ability to play two roles

I never said it would be an easy game. But we have a better squad, and a better first 11. Hence why we've made finals and semi-finals and Sweden have been nowhere near.

Which attackers are you dropping for Kulusesvki? Is he even better than Eze?
