This game is a real midfield stodge, Rice and Philips are better without the ball than with, better without the ball than Kroos and Goretzka, Kroos has vision but no longer wants the ball under any kind of pressure of which Rice and Philips are both doing a pretty good job of putting him under. Both midfields could do with opposite things. England could do with someone to do something less perfunctory, Germany could do with someone to graft and water carry so Goretzka and Kroos could do their more offensive things.
