There isn't going to be much of a Saudi effect at Newcastle, at least as far as money is concerned. Gone are those days. There might be a 10-15% bump in their revenues with some dodgy sponsorship deals, but that's about it. However, they will probably be run much better than Ashley did, and that's what will make the difference. The signs of this are already evident and them getting CL has just moved the process along much faster than even they expected.
I think we want to think they are not going to be a threat but they are.
They are well funded and have ambitions to be up there with city, it will take them a few years but they will do it.
Once they get nearer, Howe will be upgraded to a better manager, they have overtaken us this season and will continue to be out of arms reach to us.
And then we look at our club, a chairman who, dithers and wants to do things on the cheap, with no ambition to achieve on the pitch success.

Big Dan has a cunning plan to avoid the abuse next season.

But they're not going from ~180 million turnover to 300-400 million in the space of a year.

Yes they will.
No, they won't. Absent a couple 100 million/year sponsorship deals they will be around 250ish. Will they get there in 2-3 years, if they continue to qualify for CL? Probably. But they will need to continue to qualify for CL. Not a guarantee, especially since next season they will need to juggle league and Europe, something that they didn't have to worry about this year.

There are ways to skirt FFP, but to do it so blatantly as you suggest is not one that will not have repercussions. And they are Newcastle, after all, not Barca or City. I don't think the governing bodies would be as hesitant to slap sanctions on them as they would to the established teams.

I was driving down the Holloway Road yesterday , there was a Just Stop Oil protest , they had less people than the Levy Out protests

I love British apathy ,

The world is going to die soon will you join our protest?

Sorry mate , it clashes with Bargain Hunt then Countdown
👍Should also protest against petrodollars & corrupt entities funding premier League clubs.
Many fans including lots on here unfortunately dont give a fuck as long as they can brag about their ill gotten trophies .

I'll take the over on that.

First of all THIS season will be above their take from last, due to higher PL TV/prize money.

Then add 100 in CL TV money for starters, easy. At least 3 home CL matches, probably more. Ticket prices will be going up, other (legitimate) sponsorship opportunities will open up beyond the ~20M jump in shirt sponsor. (They are stuck with an undervalued Castore deal until 2026 which hurts)

They were 20th on the global list in a season half under Ashley's ownership. Being in the 50k stadium club helps them a lot.

They will surpass us for season 23/24. It flips that fast. What we secured in the 2010's was a lead in a race that never ends.

Those two had such a weird relationship. Still do, it seems.

I don't know if Poch would have been able to recover the situation if he'd been given more time, but there was no doubt then or now that he deserved that chance, even clearer now that we know how half-baked the alternative was.
Shouldn’t have needed to recover it, should have backed him with 300M in 2016/17
