Yes but IF we won the league 15 of the last 20 seasons , won the quadruple 7 times …. Would there be protests ?

: ostrich:

Not really sure what Tony’s point is
The point is protest more consistently even when results are good because then you might get taken more seriously.
I’ve never seen that happen. I see lots of crying about ENIC after shit results. A few wins and everybody shuts up until the next bad run of results.

Thats just a bit futile.

But if things were hunky dory why would anyone be protesting ?

The dipper fans don’t like their owners but while they are winning stuff they put up with them .

We’ve been poorly run as a football club for ages & it’s coming to a head , I don’t see any problem with that

Well, let’s see the change protestors keep going when the team wins a few games.

Or will they shut the fuck up like they normally do? Then start waffling about working with the club towards a future strategy that ensures success or some other fucking bullshit designed to keep them invited to join Levy at fan forums.
What you describe here is exactly the role the Supporters Trust have played.

They've cosied up to Levy and looked the other way. That's why ENIC have got away with a lot of what they've done for so long.

I'm hoping this may be different but I understand why many are cynical about it.

Levy has been shrewd enough in the past to do just enough to keep the charade going.

This feels a bit different this time.

I do wonder if Levy is actually inviting this pressure to generate interest in buying part of the club.

I think he may prefer being a landlord and Spurs supporters need to be careful that we don't end up with that situation.

We need ENIC and Levy to go completely in my opinion.

If Levy stays nothing changes.

So you think we should just shut the fuck up now and give Levy a free pass or do you support the protests and have sympathy with the issues many of us have with the way our club is being exploited?

I don’t think it is coming to a head though. That’s the point, it’s a little bit of toys out the pram stuff and by August, a few signings and a new season it will all go quiet again. It’s the same old cycle we’ve seen, and the club know it too.

It's like saying if Man Utd were regularly winning the league again nobody would be protesting against the Glazers or INEOS

it's just a barmy argument that doesn't stack up

I support it, but I want to see it keep going. Not just die a death as soon as we win a few games. If you’re serious about it keep going.
And exploited is a slightly ludicrous way of looking at it. How are you being exploited? Because the wage bill isnt high enough? They have a business model, you don’t agree with aspects of it, fine. Complain louder and more consistently. But the idea you’ve been exploited is just silly.

They were protesting when they were winning the league. Repeatedly. Even you would shut up about Enic if we ever won a league. They’ve won more trophies in the last 2 years than we’ve won in 20. And they still protest.

We win nothing, only protest when it suits us then shut up as soon as we win few games. There’s nothing credible about that. It’s just a big waste of time and isn’t really achieving anything.

Jam tomorrow… we’ve had “ the next transfer window .. this time “ for how long now ? People are rightly fed up , we’ve heard Levy out when we were winning 5-0 , have we ever had that before ? I’ve nothing but respect for the fans who go to games and make themselves heard .

They’ve ever right to do it & it does feel different

Regardless of what that article says, and wether fans agree or not, the fact it's being reported in the mainstream Media, by the BBC no less, is fantastic news and testament to the protests, the chants and the unrest being worthwhile. Whatever the detractors may say.

Thanks for sharing, Sir Archibald :mourthumb:

Exactly. Its very easy to be cynical, sneer and say whats the point, it wont get him to sell etc but its getting traction and putting a bit of pressure on. Also i guess doing something is always better than doing nothing so fair play to all those involved. It really cant do any harm for him to hear some dissenting voices rather than the congratulatory backslaps from the nodding dogs in the boardroom.

And before anyone starts with the whataboutery, no i won't be attending as stopped going 5 years ago because i'd reached the stage then where i thought they just didnt care about the football or even attempting to compete and i simply care less than i used too. But i still wish the protesters well.

"They described the executive leadership and club board, which includes operations and finance director Matthew Collecott and executive director Donna-Maria Cullen, as "people too similar to him" who will "sit with their heads in their phones", rather than "people who make up for [Levy's] weaknesses"."

He's hoping we will let him stay and throw Donna or Collecott under the bus instead.

6.6 million he paid himself for presiding over sacking Conte and hiring Ange.

Correct me if I’m wrong (it’s been known), but aren’t you rather obviously saying that ONLY protesting when we are shite is a waste of time? And that we need to protest no matter the on field performances if we really want to change the ownership?

I see you are being jumped on for saying that we shouldn’t protest at all, but that’s not what I’m reading in your posts.

Pretty much, maintain the protesting regardless of results. That’s if you want it to be effective. I don’t recall saying don’t protest at all, just be consistent with it and don’t stop once results improve.

Definitely not shrill.

Hysterical and useless
